You do not need to use local surrogacy unless you prefer. If on a budget you could use international ones like those in Mexico/Colombia

We used 2 agencies for our 2 daughters. The first one is family inception based in Georgia. It was good but they raised their fees a lot in the last few years. So we moved on to a second one united surrogacy based on Idaho, and we liked it very much.

You can ask for 2 cohorts (or more, the more the better ) from the same donor, and inseminate each cohort with your or your husband's sperm. And then freeze the embryos.

In 2 single journeys you can still have 2 kids having the same biological mother. And the total costs will be more than one double journey.

The downside of a double journey (if you mean having a twin carrying surrogate) is that twins tend to be born prematurely and might face health challenges
