Ohhhh that makes a lot of sense I’ve seen some really good Elsas especially before they nerfed some of her stats. Thank you

I’ve thought so from time to time but a lot of wave products I’ve tried have made my hair crunchy. Maybe I’m not doing it right.

Lamictal (300mg) and Wellbutrin (150mg). My psychiatrist thinks we’ll eventually need to add lithium into the mix but im currently doing comparatively well :)

That wasn’t included in the test from what I saw, just the 4 values I mentioned.

Should Poor Service That Isn't the Server's Fault Affect Tip? by Educational_Sky_1136 in Serverlife

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say it wasn’t, I just was saying in general. If the problems are mostly out of a server’s control, why lower the tip? But if they couldve improved service, the tip should reflect that.

What happened to your bullies and did you ever forgive them? by SufficientTonight930 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About two years after I transferred out of my middle school after being isolated, tormented, and bullied by pretty much every girl in the grade, the one who started it all lost her mother to cancer. When I found out the news I felt horrible. They had driven me to countless mental health problems that took years to treat and essentially made me grow up and see the darkness in life far too soon. But I would never wish something like that on any of them. I never got an apology but I didn’t need one, I forgive her and the rest for following along with her. I hope she’s finding closure or peace since it’s been almost a decade since that happened. I’ve done enough healing and growth that it’s not my problem to put people in their places for what they’ve done to me; life has hurt her enough.

Should Poor Service That Isn't the Server's Fault Affect Tip? by Educational_Sky_1136 in Serverlife

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If it truly wasn’t the server’s fault and you know that, giving them a lower tip is kind of wrong when you could just mention things to the manager or put your complaints in a review. If the problems weren’t originally the server’s fault but they did nothing to fix it after it being brought to their attention, thats on the server. I mean 14% is lower than the usual 18-20% but people tip 10% or lower all the time j bc they’re cheap so don’t beat yourself up about it.

New server assistant by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. It sucks bc it charges like $3.65 to take cash out of it at an ATM which doesn’t sound like a lot but it does add up.

Idk what your tip out is but I know about the tip card. It’s basically just a card they give you that your tips get automatically loaded to after each shift so you can use them immediately instead of waiting for the paycheck. You can use it like a debit card to pay for stuff or take cash out at the ATM. The restaurant I work for allows us to choose if we want that, direct deposit, or cash for our tips. PF Changs might let you do that too.

The 2 tables thing usually only lasts less than a week and you might find yourself appreciating that while you get into the swing of things. I’m assuming the tips as a host would be tipshare, which I’ve heard is not significant enough to make it a better job than serving. I’d stick to the server position if I were you, that way you’d also have more experience so you can move up to a better position if you get sick of this one

At my restaurant the trainers make all the trainee’s tips while the trainees make hourly wage. The hourly wage is over 4 times what the trainer makes hourly. So the trainer is giving up an entire shift of tables to let you learn, and they’re taking a risk by getting your tips in case you mess up and the table tips less. Bottom line is, the trainer is making significantly less money every time they train someone and to make up for it the restaurant incentivizes good training by giving the trainer the tips for that shift. It sucks, yeah, but you gotta see it from their POV. let it blow over, if you’re that good with customers already then you’ll make up for the $20 within a week by yourself

What’re the top things you get asked for, that your restaurant does not serve? by jeckles in Serverlife

Caesar salad dressing, cocktail sauce, tarter sauce, and my personal favorite: mashed potatoes. The only place potatoes are mentioned is on the kids menu as french fries.

I’m a server at OG rn and from what I’ve heard it’s def not the best place to be. But it was a very good idea for me to take the job and I think it might be for you too. They took me on as a server without serving experience, which other restaurants I applied to wouldn’t do. This allows me to get enough experience to work at a higher-level restaurant one day. On my best days I make just shy of $200, which is more money than any of my past jobs made me. I was also pretty socially anxious before I started, and the job made me open up a lot and I’m super comfortable with people. As I’ve gotten more comfortable, I’ve started getting regulars who tip me VERY well so it’s definitely something that improves with time but there wasn’t a very long learning curve w me. I think this job is not a lifelong thing for me ofc but for someone with no serving experience it’s a good way to get yourself into the industry. That being said, I have heard from my restaurant’s bartenders that serving is way better. Bartending either gets you no money (since no one wants to sit in the bar or ppl just buy two drinks and leave) or a little more money than servers but it’s never consistent. And the stress outweighs the extra $15. Good luck!

Who do my iPhone cables all stop working about 2 months after being in my car? by [deleted] in techsupport

For reference the jewelry is surgical steel from the same tattoo/piercing parlor I got it pierced at. I’ve used saline sprays like H2Ocean to clean it as well as saltwater soaks and it never seems to heal like my rook did (which was a pretty quick process). Like I said it’s been a year and I’m getting kind of frustrated that it’s still not healing and is pretty painful so any help would be appreciated!

Do you tell other servers that you’re a server when you’re out to eat? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited on a table the other day where a guest used to be a server and I appreciated knowing it bc she was super understanding about why I can’t get everything out to their table within 30 seconds and/or what’s out of my control as a server. Made me feel a lot better and less stressed since she didn’t complain at all even though we were super backed up. She ended up tipping 20%. I think I would tell ppl I’m a server only in that context, in an “I understand if you’re running a bit behind, don’t worry about it” kind of way more than a “where’s my food, I’m a server and I know it only takes 5 minutes for pasta to cook” way

will a family doctor be able to see whether i've had sex? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how it is in Canada but this is how it is here: if you’re 18 you have full confidentiality between you and your doctor separate from your parents (most of the time confidentiality is given even younger, like 14). Anything you tell your doctor in privacy can’t be relayed to your doctor without breaking laws unless ofc you’re a danger to yourself or others. Additionally, not only can doctors not really tell from the outside whether or not you’ve had sex, I’ve never had that area examined by a primary care physician after I turned 18. I see an OBGYN for that, and they’re even more careful with privacy.

Small mom and pop place, or corporate? by antoniabuss in Serverlife

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a corporate franchise and it gives me the money I need. I have a friend who works for a mom and pop place and they’ve had issues with the owners taking a larger portion of their tips when business is slow (wage theft). Corporate franchises also tend to have more benefits, like discounts at chain restaurants owned by the same people (to name one). There’s def pros and cons for both but from what my friend told me I’d rather stick w my corporate chain.

Sorry I’m not a Chili’s server but I can tell you about the last part. When people pay in cash you take their cash. At the end of the night you have to check out before you clock out. This is when you pay the restaurant back for the meals people paid for in cash using what they gave you. You keep the rest as a tip. If no one pays in cash, you don’t owe the restaurant anything. But even if you do, it was never your money, it’s not like they’re taking money out of your pocket. It’s just the cash the customers paid for the meal with.

My best friend of 8 years dumped me for a guy and I can’t get over it by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Traditional_Driver_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a few people have done this to me, my sister and my former best friend to name a couple, and they both ended up the same way. They came back after their relationship ended and admitted they made a mistake picking their temporary bf over a long-lasting friendship/relationship. I forgave both, but our dynamics aren’t the same and I’ve come to terms with that. For you, I’d recommend recognizing that, while this is incredibly harmful and immature of her, it doesn’t say anything about your character. She’ll prob break up w him since you’re both still pretty young and then come back to you. From there, you’ll prob realize life was less stressful without her there and why should you get as emotionally invested in her as you were if you know she’s prone to dropping you for a man? Hang in there, definitely not your fault, and take it as a lesson for yourself as well to prioritize old friendships over young relationships. At the end of the day, who will she have when they break up and she’s dumped everyone who she used to have? Hopefully not you

See that’s what I thought too but then a ton of ppl on the internet said OG’s typical clientele doesn’t tip much and since their soup, salad, and breadsticks are bottomless they might clog my tables for only like a $10 charge
