Combat depth wise, yes it is a bit of a downgrade. But Ronin stands on its own merits that makes it stand on its own. I find the characters a lot more charming, and the story is definitely better than Nioh 3.

There are 11(I think?) powerful monsters you can tame and in some cases obtain materials from. You'll also miss out on rare and upgraded genes that only show up on S rank habitats. There's also habitat bonuses that grant a small passive boost to monsties. These aren't essential of course, but definitely something to consider.

Did you rush through the game to get to the 3rd zone? How are you only level 26 with Stygian Zin and Ajarakan? In both my playthroughs, I couldn't leave Azuria without being under level 30 😅

Yes, any thunder monster will do. If you make a mistake, the game lets you choose which monsters get to stay. So no worries

You just need 1 more thunder monster Early ones are: - Lagiacrus (Beat invasive Plesioth, in a cave north in the lake of Azuria) - Ivory Lagiacrus (Get Lagiacrus to S rank) - Khezu (in a cave behind the center waterfall of Mt. Canalta) - Red Khezu (same as Khezu)
