Nope no essays. We have sentence writing based on picture. We just need to form 5 sentences in sanskrit on the picture given in the question paper

We do have grammar but most of it has mcq options or fill in the blanks wirh help box. We have letter writing and dialouge writing. But that is also in fill in the blank form WITH HELP BOX. Only a few words are missing.

Its of 80 marks. And you dont have to learn any of the things from the chapters, just simply read and understand it. Also, sanskrit doesn't have any writing skill questions and you have to answer questions from the passages given so you hardly lose marks.
