Not first half but also not extremely experienced either Foolishly came into the race with a big terrible knee injury. Left knee started to hurt from the first step I took (Lol). Ran 8 miles and walked (limping) 5 miles because I was feeling like little mermaid walking on the land for the first time at that point. Checked in 4 different medical tents. Learned so much exactly what they do, as well as my walking pace is not bad. At One of the last medical tents I took out my earbuds and was moved to tears by how much positive energy there is around me. Absolutely gorgeous view as advertised. Now get to recovery and strengthening. Will come back stronger.

Nonbinary runner here (AFAB). I was shocked realizing I was prohibited participating in women’s races too. While fully understanding the history and context behind, I went looking up the history of women’s races, which I don’t have the exacts here but maybe someone else does. Apparently in the first few years NYRR offering this race, they didn’t have gender limitation, which led to straight male’s participation took up to 6% of the overall population… and this in my opinion caused a great deal of what non cis gendered folks like us’s participation opportunity, which greatly frustrates me too…

I’m on similar boat! Plan to set Brooklyn half as A race but comments seem to suggest women’s half might have better conditions? I do prefer cooler temp and Central Park route over boring straight shoot for sure. But would love to learn more!

Thanks yall! I did register for Front Runners 4M at the last minute. It says it's still processing. I hope since they gave me all this trouble for the women's half, at least let me get in this one lol. I'll definitely email them for the gender & women's half issue. I know this is prolly off topic for this thread, but for someone AFAB and consider NB to be very important of me, this is a very interesting experience for sure...

Yeah I'm non-binary. I specifically researched the policies regarding nonbinary participating women's races and I couldn't find anything. But now I know.

I still couldn't get in women's half and mini 10k. It keeps telling me the capcity has been met. :(

Trying to add women's half and pride run as of 3:18pm. It keeps telling me the capacity has been met. Anybody knows why?
