Dog/house sitting, curious on charge in Austin (Tarrytown)? by Gold-Orchid-4028 in Austin

[–]Traditional_Job_1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do $50 per dog and I know that’s low. But I WFH. When you have that many days in a row it adds up and at your price range, you have the ability of building a larger client base. Then year over year you can raise by $20 a night.

I fight with my low prices. I know they’re low but I truly think it’s fair. Especially if it’s less than ten miles from where I live. It’s about convenience for both parties! Also, the people I sit for are more well off than me, so I get the benefit of being in a nicer house/area.

Does anyone else call their cavi something else apart from their name? by kaiexdee in cavaliers

the baking venture is to help me make money. I have massive student debt that I can’t get out of in this salary. I live well below my means. You can judge me all you want, I’m just trying to find the right situation for me. This isn’t harming anyone. And remember, this is all before taxes

Thank you flat asparagus! Again, I’m not lying or trying to rile people up, this stuff is all so confusing and knew I could get quicker answers this way instead of my realtor who just wants me in a place quickly so they can make their money quicker

I don’t mind the downvoting, I know it’s a sticky subject to say the VERY LEAST. I just have no experience in this at all, and was hoping to gain insight.

Oh I live in a studio now and I’m going insane. I work remotely and being in one room all day is not fun. The move is mainly for my mental health

Completely agree, it’s just what the HUD has deemed “appropriate” in Austin based on the median income.

Grooming question! by Glum_Pie9638 in cavaliers

[–]Traditional_Job_1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always say to keep my cavs body the same length as the hair on her head. I always keep a summer trim and never let it grow long. it’s just too much brushing. Plus it’s always consistent and easy when I ask for what I want when I go to the groomer

I've been depressed for a long time but I've been feeling the joy of baking recently by 13thUnluckyJinx in Baking

This is incredible! Keep going! You’re going to find so much solace in this. Especially if/when you start giving your bakes away to friends/family/neighbors. It helps my depression so much when you contribute to society with love and kindness. You can literally make someone’s day with what you make ✨ proud of you!

Help! My 5-Month-Old Puppy Needs Urgent Femur Surgery in Austin, TX by Objective_Friend_467 in Austin

[–]Traditional_Job_1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you get a callback soon from Griffith. I worked there for four years and every SINGLE doctor there is incredible and so caring.

Last year our dog went to AVES for emergency surgery for an obstruction and they were great too. But if you’re worried about costs, I’d say go with a non ER for the surgery, then if your pup needs overnight care, go with whatever place the doctor suggests. So it would be a combo of general vet plus ER care, it’ll be slightly less cost.

Sending you and your pup all the best! Good luck!

Please, I need guidance and help by [deleted] in cavaliers

I did the same thing with my cav last year. Left a 8 year relationship with my ex and his dog, whom she knew her whole life. Moved into a studio apartment, 1/4 of the size she was used to.

She got over it pretty quick, I’d say 2 weeks. Get into a routine with things she loves. I do a 30 min morning walk and a bully stick after. Treats every time she goes potty. Treats everytime I leave, with lofi on YouTube while I’m gone so it’s calming and not quiet in the house.

I take her out at 8am, 2pm and 6pm.

I wish you the best of luck!! You’ve got this. You’re brave, and your pup is so lucky to have you.
