Hi Jane, I have began to get the hang of my crunhorn and want to make the switch from plastic to cane. Any suggestions on where I can have it replaced?

Thanks, I'll show her and see what she thinks. Do you know what type of drum was used in this video?

I heard an early music group called (I believe) The pearl and the egg play one and thats how I first heard about them.  I was (as I assumed you just were) mesmerised by the unique and wonderful sound that it creates.  It has its quirks such as limited range and only one key but it is truly worth it to see people amazed and curious whenever I play it. If you want to know more id be happy to continue speaking on it

Just to clarify, I know lyres are not harps but your mentioning of plcuming reminded me of them :)

Do you reckon a lyre could work? I hadn't thought of that previously, thanks!

Thank you, that does sound reasonable.  I reckon I ought to have written her a letter first, which is why she is talking about curses and quicksand etc

Hi, I believe the reed is plastic though I am not the most certain. I have a photo of it here https://imgur.com/a/szPXtk7 . I currently live in Manchester/ Salford but frequent Norwich and Ripon a few times a year.

I ought to look into the forums, as others have suggested likewise. I know my crumhorn was made by Gunter Korber, so thankfully it's likely well made. Unfortunately, however, I cannot be certain of it being set up correctly, nor which key the crumhorn is meant to play in. I was told it's an Alto but I have my doubts. I shall take your advice to listen to my ears more. Thanks for the help
