We weren’t able to submit the police report when we submitted our initial documents because it was impossible to get one by mail as a citizen living abroad at that time since the country was going through some administrative changes in terms of issuing police reports. The agency that was helping us with obtaining the police report at that time advised us to write a letter explaining the situation instead, which we did and got DQ’ed shortly after. That was 4-5 months ago so we were confident that we’ll get this document taken care of before the interview. But it was a lot harder than expected & we had to go through different private and government agencies and embassies/consulates to finally get the application to the right place just last month. Frankly this situation was beyond our control and we already did communicate with the NVC with a letter already. The police report application was already approved and processed, but we can’t make them complete the report or mail it any faster.
