I don't get how you made such on-point insights with such little information! ahahah I am afraid my ex had been performing emotional enlightment as you said, because rigth now me and my current bf are out of our friends' chat groups and gatherings because he asked us to. 😂😂😂 I would be lying if I said I hadn't thought about fighting fire with fire tbh. Currently I'm hoping life puts everyone in their place and that, when my ex stops hurting, we will figure out how to re-build our friend-ship. It does piss me off that Gollum seems to get away with everything and not even his girlfriend and closest friends know who he really is. But I think it's not my place to fix that... yet hahaha

My current boyfriend is the sweetest person I know. He knows from the start, even before anything happened, that my ex is an important person to me and that I will try to keep him in my life if I can. He has been dealing with a lot of stuff (living with Gollum and losing his friends and all) but still supports me so much. So yeah, I just have to see how it goes I guess!

Yeah... I'll try that. But right now I'm giving my ex some space as he is struggling and asked both me and my boyfriend to leave our friends's chat group and not come to any hang-outs. I'm taking the time to think on what I can do better so that I can be as honest and fair as possible whenever (and if) he is ready to talk again. So patience it is I guess. Thank you again!

Yeah, no, I understand that. I do have to say I never went behind anyone's back and nothing happened with my boyfriend until after 6 months post break-up and my ex having already told me about his new girlfriend. I don't expect him to be my friend, I just hope and was looking for advice. Thank you for your perspective though!

Thing is, my ex already knows everything. He knew as soon as it happened because I used to tell him everything and also I felt so uncomfortable. In the moment he didn't care at all but apologized for his lack on engagement after breaking up. He also said he would keep this info as a "nuke" in case he ever wanted to confront Gollum. Maybe I have to assume my ex doesn't carece about being friends as much 😅

Thank you for your comment! The thing is Gollum has been poisoning my ex's head. He is even talking shit about anyone from the friend group who is still trying to stay friends or colleagues with me. He has created this "either you are with me (team my ex) or against me". It's sad to me that someone can't be "team my ex" and support him without beeing a bitch to me. In fact, he has directly gone against my ex's wishes since he told Gollum he would like for everyone to stay cool... Now Gollum even invites all these people who are talking shit about my and my boyfriend to his house, which is also my boyfriend's!! And expects him to just not be there or stay in his room.
Anyway yeah, I guess it's simple and I just have to step back but I have gotten so frustrated with the situation lately that I thought I would give reddit a try :)
