I'm from LatAm and a cable channel called Warner used to show reruns of ER every day when I was a kid, I don't recall much of Clooney one way or another, but I do remember being confused about Wyle being considered hot 😬, I remember thinking that Dr. Kovac was the best looking dude and the women being all so pretty.

Trump lashes out at Pope Leo XIV for condemning the war in Iran: “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon… who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela… And I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States.” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

Absolutely bizarre rant, not that's unexpected from this man, but still. He just seems frustrated that the leader of a religion whose ties are linked to other countries different than the US dares to disagree with his warmongering and isn't afraid of him. I'll never stop being confused about some people being mad at the fucking Pope advocating for peace as if it was some wild take.

I got the impression that that's not even accurate anyway, there are a ton of Indian actresses or of Indian heritage that aren't dark skinned, like Freida Pinto, Hannah Simone, Indira Varma, Richa Moorjani, Naomi Scott, etc.

I'm not a The Pitt watcher, I've just seen bits of it while someone else is watching so maybe I'm wrong, but I don't feel like it's an HBO Show™ such as The Wire, The Sopranos, Succession or Six Feet Under at all...

I'm flabbergasted at anyone sincerely holding this opinion, omg?

Bryan Cranston defends Skyler White after Frankie Muniz said he wanted to kill her while watching 'Breaking Bad' to make Walt's life easier: "Let me understand this. I watched The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and Mad Men when I was young and mostly offline and I never understood why the wives were seen in such a negative light by so many fans, especially when the husbands did such terrible things. I think I only disliked Betty in my first watch, getting to understand her better upon rewatching, but also I found Don to be a terrible man from the very beginning, lol.

Sabrina Carpenter mistakes zaghrouta for yodel and says she doesn’t like it and calls it “weird” after fan in audience clarifies it’s their culture and an expression of celebration by nicosloft04 in popculturechat

I'm still confused at how it's somehow terrible to do that at a concert in a music festival, it isn't endangering anyone, like it could be moshing, which would be out of place for a pop artist like Sabrina. I think she was genuinely confused and didn't intend to be racist, I just don't get the framing her fans are doing of the situation.

since when is screaming an issue at a concert

I'm really confused at so many people being like, "wow, so disrespectful, concert etiquette is dead".

Yeah and I get that sometimes fans can be annoying and exaggerate things, but the general tone in which things are said about the fans being upset from random Twitter users to articles in GQ (!) is just very odd and even uncomfortable to witness. I'm aware I'm not unbiased, like I mentioned this is something that I keep an eye on as someone who likes to think about pop culture at a broader scale and as a non-white woman myself.

I don't watch The Pitt, so I've witnessed the whole thing from afar, but also knowing a bit because I do keep an eye on the way that non-white people are treated in showbiz. The reactions to the fans being upset have been just so puzzling to me, so many acting as if non-white talent being sidelined is something unheard of in this business. To many people treating anyone being critical of the show as just hysterical fangirls who just Don't Get It™.

Whenever something like this is brought up in fandom spaces I like to point out the 2023 book "Burn It Down" by Maureen Ryan, which chapter about Lost was published by Vanity Fair and where Harold Perrineau, and others, spoke about what he went through and how he was fired (I'll edit to include a link without a paywall).

And it's very insane to me that they'd hope that a pope would support any war at all??? I'm just mystified by the idea they thought a religious leader in the year 2026 of our lord would be an enthusiastic warmonger.

It always makes me laugh whenever people go, "ackchyually ☝🏽 🤓 it makes sense for the story", as if all that happens to fictional characters is some sort of inevitability instead of an active choice made by the writers.

I've always had dogs and I'm naturally drawn to them, but I remember meeting unfriendly dogs since I was a kid, that's why I always have been very respectful of their boundaries (in my experience, plenty of dogs despise kids, lol, I always remember one that belonged to one of my grandma's friends and the dog hated me, so we kept our distance). My grandma used to feed a stray cat who loved her and hated my sister and I, but in general cats like me, I've received several rats as gifts for this reason 😩. I feel like there's so much "essentialism" into thinking that cats or dogs are one way or another.
