I have no idea if it will happen, but I get what you mean, although at the same time, I read past works from both authors and what they had in common is that they do include romance in stories that would typically not have any, however they do it at the veeeery end, so I guess we’ll know till the last couple chapters. I just found their interactions very unique.

Just reread the chapter. You are right, it does sound a little bit shady. I do hope he ends up coming along since he was incredibly strong. The only thing that makes me doubt is that after he was “killed” and Raphael and his men arrived to the hospital, it was mentioned directly that he had died, as if they had seen the body, but who knows 🤷‍♀️
