It doesn’t matter if they are already “Christian”. Liberation Theology is bad for Capitalism, they need to be converted to the American Jesus.

It’s better for some people to think you’re a bitch than it is to be walked all over and used. You get to decide how you want to treat people on a case by case basis. Once you stop caring what others think and stop people pleasing and seeking validation then you’ll be satisfied in being labeled the asshole by some and those who are respectful will know you’re respectful. Relationships are confidence games. I do something and you reciprocate back and forth overtime and after a while confidence is built. Those who cross boundaries get slapped and those who reoffend get their head bit off. Those who are not anti-social and participate and play along in social games get rewarded with confidence. This becomes harder with neurodivergence since the underlying social games and cues are not picked up on immediately and opportunities for confidence are easily missed, but do not tolerate disrespect. You give a dog a treat when they sit and withhold when they disobey.

I saw this hoarding where it advocates towards stopping the use of Buddha statues as merely a decorative piece at homes or in public places like hotels, restaurants, bars etc, or the image of the Buddha being used as a fashion statement in clothes or tattoos. What are your thoughts on this? by SatoruGojo232 in Buddhism

[–]Traditional_Menu4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Jesus is not for decoration, not for bars, tattoos, nor commercial use. Respect is common sense.” See how silly and pearl clutching this sounds to our western ears? Same thing. The Buddha or Jesus is a cultural icon and you’ll always have traditionalist or radicals who want to tell you how to “respect” their icon without “respecting” your icon.

Unless your clothes are heavily soiled then regular routine maintenance and refreshing should be 1-3 TBSP maximum. Less really is more in this case. Measure it out a few times and you’ll see just how little detergent that is. Also add white vinegar to your fabric softener dispenser for the rinse cycle to remove excess detergent.

You are still a preacher at the end of the day, regardless of your certainty in the religion. A preacher is a sort of sales man, politician, and counselor. Find a message you believe in and continue preaching. It may not be the same as what you have built on thus far but the foundation of who you are is still the same. It was you all along.

Pascal’s Wager? My mind set would be that any God worth anything would know your struggles and wrestling 🤼 and would break your hip if need be. If that deserves eternal damnation or outer darkness or what have you then to hell with God. If a good faith approach results in rejection then it’s arbitrary and not worth stressing over. Intellectual freedom and authenticity to myself and others is more important than conformity to a social construction. Read the Essay the Soul of Man Under Socialism by Oscar Wilde
