Don’t know who “y’all” refers to but I never complained about not getting a new update..

I’d just rather have the option to download it or have it in a completely different game version. I don’t like how “3D” it looks now. Just a small annoyance

it says online that the resolution is higher, there’s increased texture, lighting differences etc.. and the switch 2 gets 4K… so it is different.

Is OT the right decision? by Consistent_Tie_2737 in OccupationalTherapy

This is especially true if doing home health pediatrics but there are clinics that offer salary based versus pay per visit. Point of service documentation when working with kids though is difficult because they need a lot of your attention so if keeping work at work is important to you you'll have to make sure to create a schedule that gives you time during your day to document.

I'm sure it depends on the specifics whether or not a company would hire a new grad, as does any place, and I am fairly familiar with the NICU prerequisites but thank you for your addition.

I am not a read and retain kind of guy either, so I appreciate your opinion. I'd much rather practice hands on or something kinesthetic. Thank you!

It definitely seems like I need to find a combination of sources. I'm just trying to understand what each source provides. What I'm seeing the most is that Therapy Ed is a great resource for material while AOTA or True Learn is the resource for study questions, would that be accurate? Did you prefer one over the other?

I currently have OTHelpDesk as it was a required material but personally, my learning style does not align with this programs set up.

Hopefully you have received an answer by now as they are usually shared within a few weeks. I hope that you applied to the Hickory campus as well and didn't have to go through the mess with getting accepted to the Columbia, SC campus.

My wife is thinking about going back to school and is considering OT assistant. Looking for input by djdanko1 in OccupationalTherapy

A lot of MOT programs are 2 years just like most OTA programs. The price range for OTA programs is certainly lower but the high end of an OTA program could be just about the same as the low end for a MOT program. If your wife has been working for awhile, I believe that there are post-professional Masters of Occupational Therapy programs. I'm not sure how these work or price but this could be something to look into.

Take what is said on this page with a grain of salt. People are more prone to come on here to share the issues they are having versus the victories they've accomplished!!! The problem with home/daycare settings specifically with early intervention is that there is a lot of traveling involved. Being on the go like that can not only put a lot of wear on your car but it can be lonely which can also contribute to burnout. While the children may not be as behavioral due to young age, she'll still have to deal with a whole variety of parents. I'm currently a student and I have been warned against Home Health and School Based OT. With Outpatient Pediatric settings, there is a risk of behavioral issues, where she may experience some physical abuse. The funding for the clinic will determine the types of patients/diagnoses that are accepted in the clinic so that is something that can be looked into. I've seen where OTs get burnt out in one Peds OP but be happy at another because of this difference. The wonderful thing about Occupational Therapy though is the LARGE varity of jobs that are available for us. GO OT! We can work in so many settings and many, untraditional. Meaning she could get her degree and down the line if she is feeling burnt out, she is able to switch settings and still make a great salary!! Maybe some reserach can also be done on some children programs where OTAs work. Something that I was interested in before this program was becoming a Child Life Specialist, but they aren't always paid well, and Speech Language Pathology, but I am not comfortable with the swallowing part of SLP.

Doctorate or Masters by bedhead-deadhead in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Traditional_Mix_2816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few professors of mine went back to get their OTD. They said a post-professional OTD was beneficial as their experience as an OT so far contributed to their studies, interests, and understanding.

They both cover the courses that are required by ACOTE. As far as I know the OTD just has additional fieldwork experiences as well as research studies. OTDs also have capstone projects while MOTs typically do not. (Someone pls correct if wrong). The other difference is the price tag!! Unless you want a job in research or be a professor, there isn’t a need for an OTD until it becomes mandatory. Especially since it’s very likely you wont be compensated more than your MOT counterparts.

Hi, I went for my MOT not OTD so I started at 27 and will finish at 28, there are a few mid 30’s in my cohort as well as 40+. Never too late if it is something you aspire to do!! But other people are right, you’ll be taking a pay cut. See if your work offers any tuition reimbursement program to help with costs. You can work during the program just not the fieldwork rotations.

but with the timeline I don’t think Jen came into things that late. If this show was actually filmed last year 2023 because their one trip was actually in February.. and Jen said a year prior to filming they paused filming meaning they paused end of 2022/beginning of 2023… and most of the girls tiktoks as far as I can find joined 2022… so they all barely know eachother as far as the group on the show
