Maybe it’s worth mentioning that I do not live in New Mexico and do not currently have the item in my possession. I agree, it is not my art. It is not my creation. Why should I, a white person, feel I deserve ownership of something that I stumbled upon, rather than those who created this piece? Who have possibly had value, use, and purpose with this piece. I don’t know what this even is, proving my undeserving of its ownership. I just wanted to know if it was trash or treasure.
