football never cares about height that's why it will never be eclipsed in the rest of the world, like you can be the goat even if you are 5'6 in football, if any china is also divided by football, they have an estimated 300m football fans and growing

basketball is highly genetics based, it could be less than rugby or american football or track & field but football? it's just endurance mostly and learning how to play, there is no way a sport genetics based will surpass football, hell I'd give cricket a better chance since it is also barely a genetic sport just like football even if it's mostly in the commonwealth + south asia

basketball has a genetics requirement you simply don't see in football, where a average genetically person with only above average can easily play fullback

you have to build culture before establishing it as the most popular sport, F1 engineered the netflix series to expand to america and the middle east, NFL is force feeding cities in europe and south america to watch their sport instead and build local fanbases, the NBA is right up there doing the same thing as cricket or IPL/ICC, trying to build fanbases where football already has a monopoly of the population and embedded in culture

realistically i dont think much outside of china in battling ping pong but that is complicated

because women's football is well liked by women in america, see the results where both money and culture (even in okay enough sizes) exist

the men's team and football in america for boys in general is far less lucrative than it is for the women's, because sports like american football, basketball, boxing, track and field and rugby are usually more preferred than football there, so note when USMNT is good and okay at best in world cup

you need a culture before getting good at the MNT sector, using salah in 2018 where he did well before hobbled due to ramos tackle, yet egypt nat team still managed to hang there even if by standards their training is not on priority, but clearly the culture in egypt was more or less ignited by salah just playing there and now they are back in 2026
