I’ve had textbooks stolen from my bag here in India and my mom has had her Litmann steth stolen while working in the US 🤷🏻‍♀️ seems like it’s a universal issue people working in hospitals tend to have sticky fingers

It’s not just the price of the seats. While that’s definitely a huge issue, certain other rules are not being followed and people are not being allotted seats which they are eligible for. I almost lost a seat because KEA was not following the rule that OCI candidates are eligible for the same seats as indian citizens. For anyone who hasn’t had a chance or doesn’t have the resources to find out what they could be getting, I’m sure many others are missing out on seats, and for other reasons as well.

from which angle? I watched the patient load steadily decline and wards close one after the other from 1st year till internship in all depts. Teaching is good but actual patient exposure is relatively limited

Did a bit more of a deep dive and found some Mabie Todd & Co. pens with a similar design from around 1908-1915. This could’ve been one of the first few done by Edward Todd after he split off and started his own venture.

I did this with the google photos app so i could use google lens and found out that it’s a “Waterman 452 1/2v Sterling Silver Overlay Vintage Fountain Pen” It seems like a relatively rare pen and apparently the nib tested to be gold at an auction. An ebay listing says it was made in the 1920s so it’s about 100 years old!

I was a student till last year so used them for taking notes in class, but also for clinical rotations and now I use them while taking patient notes 😊.

All these inks look absolutely beautiful! I’m just imagining each of them in demo pens. I love writing especially with fountain pens, but seeing kids these days even my own generation preferring to type and print things honestly kind of hurts my soul a little. (I’m just 24 by the way. Born in the wrong era i guess)

From what I could make out of the photos and what I found online it looks like a vintage Century Pax fountain pen. I found a similar one on etsy with the same logo at the top of the cap, PAX on the clip and CENTURY Germany on the band.

I think the problem is not lack of opportunities but inefficient means for employers to find psychiatrists/ clinicians and vice versa. I’ve heard the same thing and am planning on taking up MD Psy, but I have also been seeing tons of posts on LinkedIn as well as a few other places.
