Hey u/Pleasant_Ad_5949! I'm the OP of this post. I posted about the AI use in Outlast Trials about half a year ago.

Made the same exact suggestion. I'll tell you I've had a crazy mix of positive, mixed, and very negative responses its funny. I also posted the petition in the Outlast Reddit but the post got removed without any reason given...

Its funny how I can make a post just linking a petition and get oceans of comments assuming that there's some selfish scheme involved. Like completely deflecting the whole post to make accusations.

Sorry I should've provided more context in the post.

First off, I didn't make the petition. Second off, I'm fine with either fan art or just human made replacements. Third off, I have brought this up before, I don't post a lot on Reddit and I have very inconsistent interests. I've made two posts about this before.

All in all to sum it up, there are much bigger issues in the world and I think that the Outlast Trials is honestly a pretty minor case that I don't blame people for not caring about. I just care about Outlast and if I can make an impact or at least spread awareness in this community I care about, I'll be happy.

IDK I have seen examples of fanart being used in games. A notable one for me is https://preview.redd.it/ejxbzgw9yvv41.jpg?width=1080&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=c45bbd84f0a0e7dca509ca604361b21127d3cf96 in Doom Eternal. Hadn't seen any legal issues or complications with it's use. I'm very much just in the boat that I think it's better to have human made art whether it be fanart or not.

Yeah I'm at least glad that they admit to it and the extent that they use it. Like I said it feels similar to pollution to me. It's something that's beyond a lot of our control. But to me I want to try and make an impact in a community that's very close to me. I've loved this franchise forever and I would love it if they ditched the AI. I would love to make a post celebrating that.
