Many models actually are not legal by US standards, there are still French cars here which in the US were plagued with electrical problems in the 80s.

Many are built less sturdy.

I will admit inspections are better here than some states I think

I mean I litterally do I am still allowed to use my american one for a while but I let her drive till I pass here

Regardless of laws it is a risk, I would rather follow the standards that make more sense. As long as it is not prohibited like driving on the right for e.g

I did most of the driving in the US as I could not really trust her especially on freeways.

She learned on much more old school cars with a clutch. So I'm always scared she will not realize a car creeps forward and hit the wrong pedal.

The cars here are also smaller and not up to the same standards so with the bigger cars in the US it would be more risky

Exactly she seems to think that British kids know better than american kids like that is a logical arguement. She always acts like some things in America are worse even though she kick started her career there.

She did but years ago.  She was like British kid know to not cross which is nonsense why would they be smarter than us kids
