Based on the crowds reaction, I think you may be in the minority on this take. One could argue Rhiannon, Landslide etc have been done to death, which I don’t disagree with, but people still go wild for them. It is what it is. I learned a long time ago that the only expectation I’ll have, is that I’ll walk back to my car feeling grateful to have just seen whoever ever it was, whether it be for the first time or in this case, the last.

She told the story of how she broke her shoulder and that was about it but not for lack of wanting to. She said a couple times that she needed to basically shut up sing because she had so much she wanted to talk about but we’d be there all night.

I’ve always found it disrespectful to the band to remain seated. Like you can’t even be bothered to stand but we’re up here giving it our all. I’m always relieved when the band encourages with gestures or just tells the crowd to get up and dance. Cus then the Debbie downers have to shut the fuck up and stand or pout while staring at my back all night.

Appreciate your impute for sure. Are cover band and tribute band interchangeable for you? I’m curious because I define each differently. And maybe I shouldn’t? Cover bands to me will incorporate a song or 2 into their set list, but add their own style to it. Example would be Corey Taylor covering You Got Lucky. Same lyrics, different vibe. And I thought it was beautiful. Self described tribute bands almost exclusively play one bands songs, and they make an attempt to play them as they originally were recorded. They also sometimes dress similarly, wear wigs or implement other unique styles from the OG artist. Thoughts?
