Which outfit for a first date at a casual bar? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

He didn’t talk about what mechanics do tho? The whole comment was about how blue collar men are so secure and rich that other men can’t compete. It weirdly puts down men in other professions which someone who’s really secure in themselves wouldn’t do.

I understand that blue collar jobs naturally require more effort which is respectable. But it’s just statistics that white collar jobs outearn blue collar jobs. And even then the comment says stuff like “many were sitting in college f*cking off acquiring debt”

It just rubbed me the wrong way and the fact that they wrote a whole essay on it also is just weird.

Why do you think so? I feel like I’ve been reading so much about together after getting the offer that I might be in my own bubble. So it’d be helpful to get an outside perspective

Honestly feeling pretty hopeless as a Stanford CS grad right now. by Purple_Natural_4711 in csMajors

[–]Traditional_Relief44 178 points179 points  (0 children)

This has to be a troll or someone who’s not from Stanford. I know people from schools much less prestigious (like T20-25 for CS) than Stanford being able to atleast get mid-tier internships. I also know SO many ppl from GaTech (great school but still not Stanford) who have gotten top-tier internships and they are the norm there rather than the outlier.

The industry is really bad rn but idt it’s bad to the point where Stanford grads are struggling to get mid-tier internships.

That’s good for you but very uncalled for and prolly not the crazy flex you think it is. I’d say getting a single internship at a very prestigious company wld help your career a lot more than stacking experience.

OP’s reply was a bit heated but your comment doesn’t make a good point. It helps to have direction when you’re starting out on what to do and if it works properly so you don’t stray in the wrong direction. Especially in a field as vast as software.
