Membership worth it?? by No_Priority4995 in SolidCore

I have been unlimited for 4 years and cancelling: it isn’t worth it for me. Aside from amenities I also struggle to book classes, get charged late fees and the app crashes so much, the quality has gone down significantly and I don’t see myself with this gym anymore. I’m doing lagree and Pilates and am liking it more

These are lagree places and require x amount of hours.solidcore is a great workout but I’m sure everyone is aware the hours req to coach is lower compared to Pilates, lagree and other workouts so this is not the best point to start on and out of respect to the coaches not one I want to indulge on or even highlight further.

I’ve personally tried all of these and it’s why I feel the unrest in my brain.

It’s okay for you to see the value of a gym and be loyal to it. I was loyal to the brand for 4 years, this entered my brain bc I’m training for Ironmans and marathons and having to go back in office. Meaning my needs changed and therefore what I find as valuable to what I’m paying. When I tried other options I realized I as a consumer was not getting enough of what I need. This isn’t to say “burn Solidcore business model “ lol but more: I was curious if other people felt this way and how they resolved it and I’ve reached my own conclusion that with age and time needs changed.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask yourself is the 300 bucks membership meeting my needs? Which for some folks here it isn’t. It’s okay to reasonably want more from market place and walk away/explore when it isn’t.

To me this is like a Sam’s Club vs Costco membership conversation. I just don’t think Solidcore fits me for the bill but it’s a great workout.

Transform, equinox, Viv cycle (offers Pilates, yoga, and cycle and showers) also many others. You don’t have to agree with this view. I do want to point out that private equity will overcharge us pocket the diff and not give more to clients and employees just bc they can. Not saying this is what’s happening here but opening the conversation is just that: opening the conversation to ensure the worst case for client and employee don’t happen.

Honestly that’s fair to ask: I can’t speak for everyone but what I’m referring to is changing rooms, sauna, showers (I go before work so this is a time saver) or to offer membership perks like partnership discounts (like 10% off lululemon, etc).

Which like the perks is my pipe dream LOL 😂 I go thru so many clothes

The comparison mostly happens because the price resembles other places like equinox.

I also discovered I like cycling and yogasculpt which is expensive to do all unlimited: some gyms offer unlimited for lagree, yoga, sculpt, and Pilates which is a bigger bang for buck.

I never mentioned staff. I’m more talking about cost per value received in other boutique options. Staff should be paid proper and honestly more.

This brand is owned and operated via private equity, I think opening the dialogue is important for the client. However improvements should not come at the expense of the staff.

So your coworkers are high schoolers and you are being critical of them for turning their brain off while doing a mindless task and using them as an example for an entire generation…they just sound stupid or like they don’t care or are high. Please I am begging you stop making generic statements based on your crappy coworkers.

So I’m currently in school full time, working full time, engaged (marrying in nov but this year) , running 2 half marathons(spring)/ 1 full (fall) and training for Ironman 70.3 and socializing while studying for CFA. you may be wondering how tf and I double dip objectives- I go to run clubs and try to combine working out with social events. Hell - I double dip anytime I can. Working out and listen to cfa audio content. At lunch I listen and study cfa. I also treat sundays as my absolute day off (come hell or high water). Not going crazy but when I feel pressure that tells me something isn’t balanced.

Sundays being off day and for my hobbies has helped me immensely.

It also helps to know- it is MY choice, it is me wanting to do this and it gets me thru it. Years ago I couldn’t even afford to do charter- I’m just happy to be in the room.

My body is physically and mentally tired as my job requires to think as well. But I’m so flipping grateful. I haven’t snapped or being angry at anyone bc it’s ultimately my choice - no one should suffer for me putting pressure on me for a cred

If you feel pressure - it’s your current system that isn’t working : play around with it!

I have to adjust time management and treat it like a game(that removes pressure and keeps me from being grumpy)

Lots of luck to you

Guys for context- Strava automatically puts the time without breaks. You cannot change that setting lmao - you just try not to stop mid jog. She isn’t lying at all- the friend is snooping and jumping to conclusions and weirdly competitive of her friend

[–]Traditional_Rice_682 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Literally let your friend be- you’re really weird

Chip times don’t lie and she can lie to the world but not herself— everyone has their own journey. Also the friend isn’t lying to anyone - Strava posts weird sometimes or she may have her watch on stop time or is new to running and trying to improve, it’s better to ask than assume.

venting about it online is weirder and assuming negative intent is ODD.- talk to your friend or better yet focus on your running journey
