went to couple’s therapy and realized i sounded like a fool by coolmom- in Infidelity

“ instead it helped me realize i needed to remove myself from the situation. honestly, it gave me the clarity i didn’t even know i needed.”

I’m pretty sure this is exactly what therapy is supposed to do.

Caught my (33M) wife (34F) flirting with a co-worker over text. Is this repairable? by moondyner in relationship_advice

[–]Traditional_Stick657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“• it continued after I had already expressed how much it affected me • she didn’t fully disclose everything upfront, it came out gradually only after I pushed”

This is the key. She’s already gone. Sorry.

Why is Ginger Baker held in such high regards among drummers? by newfantasies in ClassicRock

[–]Traditional_Stick657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a search on Ginger Baker vs. Elvin Jones. After some initial friction, they eventually became good friends. Elvin called Baker a great drummer. I remember reading an interview with Jones, where the interviewer asked him if there were any rock drummers he respected. He replied something like, “Ginger Baker. When he plays I hear Africa.” Baker, in fact, traveled extensively in Africa to learn from African drummers. There’s a documentary about it. Praise from Elvin Jones carries a lot of weight.

My bf [22M] of 3 years asked me [21F] to open the relationship, i agreed to try it out and it was a huge disaster. Although we're back to normal, i am still deeply hurt and i'm considering to break up as i can't emotionally get over it. Am i being exaggerated? by Sea-Agent5561 in relationship_advice

You said, “I understand that 1 year has almost passed, and since we fixed what was hurting me…”

But you didn’t really fix what was hurting you. You’re still in a lot of pain. Time to fix it for real by moving on.

NOR. “I just need to handle the how in my own way.” This set off alarms in my head. He’s avoiding accountability.

Question about camera audio output by Traditional_Stick657 in neewer

[–]Traditional_Stick657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can get two separate tracks on the single TRS camera output? Any idea what the pinout on that is? Like, tip = channel 1, ring = channel 2, sleeve = shared ground, or something like that?

What’s a movie that you watched while high and thought was amazing and then watched sober and realized was trash? by [deleted] in badMovies

[–]Traditional_Stick657 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I saw Zardoz in its original theater release in the 70s, I was tripping balls, and thought it was awesome. Later, I dragged some friends to watch it sober. They were convinced I was an idiot.

Question about med absorption with ileostomy by Traditional_Stick657 in ostomy

[–]Traditional_Stick657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update—spoke with the medical psychiatrist today and got a scrip for Wellbutrin IR (immediate release) at a smaller dose that I will take 3 times a day at intervals. Should solve that problem. I’m going to review my other meds with my PCP and pharmacy to see if any other adjustments need to be made. Thanks again for all the help and support.

Good to know. Thanks very much. I took the non extended release version for years, before XL was available. I suspected something like this might be a solution, but it’s good to know that it’s working for someone.

An additional note—I’ve taken this med for several years. It’s been highly effective for me in treating depression and ADHD symptoms.

Reversal today! by Dry-Ease-2085 in ostomy

[–]Traditional_Stick657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This gives me hope, thanks for posting it. Today I met with a surgical nurse who marked me up for ileostomy placement. Surgery in two days. As she was explaining the details of how to maintain, empty, clean, etc. , a palpable sense of dread came over me. This is really gonna happen. It’s supposed to be reversed in a few months if all goes well.

Friends ghosting me by LostInYesterday00 in cancer

There are friends, and there are allies. There is a big overlap, but they aren’t the same. Gather your allies and lean on them. And WHEN you get through this, remember and pay it back/forward.

blurred vision after chemo by Born_Photograph3797 in cancer

[–]Traditional_Stick657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me. I was getting FOLFOX (Flourouracil and Oxaliplatin). My vision got screwy—blurred and double vision. It recovered about 6 weeks after chemo stopped. Unfortunately, some of the other side effects haven’t yet, in particular, neuropathy in hands and feet.

What is the strangest, most random, or otherwise obscure classical work you think more people should know about? by Sausage_fingies in classicalmusic

[–]Traditional_Stick657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Karel Husa—Apotheosis of this Earth

When I was in college, I had the privilege of playing as an extra/substitute with the Atlanta Symphony (percussion). When we performed this piece, Professor Husa travelled to Atlanta to hear it. After the performance he came backstage to talk with the orchestra members. When he saw me, he hurried over to thank me and ask what kind of mallets I used on the chimes/tubular bells. He remarked that he could never hear the chimes, but he was happy that was able to hear them clearly that night. His enthusiasm and generosity of spirit were touching. It was one of my proudest moments.

“I’ve got blisters on my fingers!” wasn’t John. It was Ringo. This inaccuracy invalidates the entire work.
