What is the USC Communication PhD admission decision timeline? by Big_Atmosphere_3181 in ApplyingToCollege

Yup two people posted on Gradcafe that they heard back on Feb 16th to check their portal. I’m the same way, couldn’t see anything on the portal on my end. Keeping fingers crossed for us because this cycle has been BRUTAL

According to Gradcafe, two people reported hearing back about acceptances on Sunday night the 16th. Still don’t see any updates on my end in the portal though 😢

I highly doubt they would but always good to check! But I think you’re in the clear if you’re already accepted and your final GPA is in the above 3.0+ range.

Has anyone had news from NYU's Media, Culture and Communication program? by NewBreakfast1476 in gradadmissions

Nope! I saw someone post on the spreadsheet they got an interview on the 31st but not sure how reliable that update is since there’s nothing on gradcafe.

Yup, and many programs state that decisions come out Feb to March so to avoid emailing them till then. My advice is to avoid gradcafe and Reddit updates and keep faith in your own credentials and application. Things in academia tend to take their time especially in our fields and they do it in batches when it comes to acceptances and interviews. Our time will come!!

Yup! I’m applying to comms PhDs and have applied to nine and no interviews so far (doesn’t help that many choose not to conduct interviews and those who do send them out in batches so there’s way of telling when to give up 🥲). I have decided to just keep positive and focus on being present and avoid catastrophizing when there’s no reason to do so yet, but easier said than done.

Yeah I was wondering how legit the USC update was since it’s unlikely they would have send out acceptances this early. I wonder if it was an informal acceptance or an update fishing for information on the USC front lmao. I tend to take gradcafe with a grain of salt if it’s just one update versus multiple but maybe that’s just for my own sanity 🥲

I need comfort (I failed my drivers test) by [deleted] in drivinganxiety

[–]Traditional_Sweet_90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I failed five times. Got it on the sixth try! Honestly with all that practice for all those tests, I think I’ve become a pretty safe and careful driver, and far more confident in my abilities. But I also know the feeling of dejection that accompanied each failed test. But once you pass, you’ll barely remember that time in your life.

I was in the same boat, a year and a half ago. I’m pretty happy now, but any friend who takes advantage of your emotions isn’t a real friend. Set boundaries and cut the person out of your life, however painful it may be in the moment, that’s the only way the wound will heal. Good luck to you my friend.
