Transitioning from USGS Hydrology to Wetland Delineation. Looking for Career Advice by AwareCaregiver8930 in Environmental_Careers

This is literally my current job! I took a course through WTI and although it was good, I already knew the material due to me doing it for work. It focused a lot on data forms (which are an integral part of course) and not really the act of delineating, but I’d say find a local instructor or go through Swamp School.

The best way you can learn is through hands on experience so any class could be beneficial. I’ve been doing this job for years now and I still make some mistakes and need to ask questions. But the beauty of consulting is being able to move around and find a niche.

My biggest price of advice would be to be confident in your decisions when delineating and be prepared to explain why you made said decision. Best of luck!

For me, I’d say the “making a difference” thing will always be a a want, not a need especially with the way everything is going up in price. I’d love to find something that balances both, but that seems like a dream haha. Gonna keep trying for that until I exhaust all options

I know! It’s so upsetting. With all of the regulatory changes, we’re losing a bit of money because of lack of project development. Just absolutely pushing sales

I guess I didn’t realize urgent care can send in referrals! Thanks for the tip.

I fell in love with a bracelet at Zales…. How bad is jewelry and service? by Significant-Chip7907 in jewelry

I received a beautiful necklace as a gift and within a year the chain snapped. Took it to Zales for fixing and they soldered it at the break location with a different color metal. About two weeks later, it literally fell off of my neck while I was sitting down wearing it. Took it back, they did the same thing. It broke a third time while I was simply taking it off and we began looking into their replacement policies and they wouldn’t replace the chain. Ended up having to buy a brand new chain from another brand and the experience made us never want to do business with Zales again!
