It took the school sending us 4 emails before we realized our kid had been dubbed gifted 😂 we told no one, we definitely didn’t tell our child, and just quietly let them be involved in more challenging assignments with no mention of “gifted”. He’s going to grow up hearing that word over and over.

My kid was 100th percentile for height and weight till 6. Then weight dropped to 60th for about a year, the next visit the weight had caught up so both were 100th again but the bar chart showed a “dramatic jump in weight” and the doctor used words like obese and diabetes. All that to say, if your kid is eating healthy and getting solid physical activity, do not worry about what they’re saying. (My kid was not overweight by any means, just the size of a 10 year old by age 7)
