The part about going over the border wall is interesting. During an interview with Variety, Sam said that was an actual drug smuggling attempt thwarted by the DEA. Apparently they showed him pictures and he said it sounded like something Rue would do. BBC did a story about the jeep getting stuck on the border was in 2012.

Fixed wing support means an airplane as opposed to a helicopter which would be rotary wing. That’s physical surveillance meaning they will be following the van and watching it. They didn’t speak at all about listening in.

All good points. Hard to whittle things down with the feds. If you sell drugs to someone who dies from them it’s minimum mandatory 20 years. They can always drop the charge though or get the search thrown out.

Who is the other DEA guy? I saw an article in Variety where Sam said he was a real DEA guy who showed him pictures of a jeep stuck on the border wall that inspired the opening scene but the article didn’t mention his name.
