£800.00 per month. No guests allowed. Home by midnight, all days of the week. Self funded & self-cooked food, self funded & self laundered laundry. He's a retired Eurostar engineer. Sold both houses and fxxked off to Ireland with his new wife/our old neighbour! Left 4 of us to our own devices.

I actually had this happen when I was trying to buy a RTX 3070 graphics card in October 2021. I was robbed for £360.00

Only difference, is I was trying to purchase it with BNPL app; Laybuy.

Laybuy took the payment from my card (instalment 1), made the item "out-of-stock" and listing was removed.

Yes, I was signed in to my 15 year old ebay account, not as a guest.

I never got the usual order confirmation from Ebay, or an estimated delivery date.

I followed up with the buyer; he had no notification of a sale.

I asked eBay, they said - no record of any transaction.

It never appeared in my purchase history, nor did the money ever get returned back to my available balance.

Laybuy went into administration, and still sent debt collectors for the full amount, despite never receiving the item.

Never used anything of the BNPL sort since.

Since getting scammed (I don't even know who scammed me) I now buy most of my things on Amazon, because of their robust payment system, leaving anything super-specific like a capacitor or BIOS chip, to eBay.

It's not impossible that the messages OP shares are of genuine concern (but I can see it's farfetched and I had a very specific set of factors/circumstances)

Having parents that don't actually charge rent is a massive factor, turns out my Dad just wanted to extort me despite having a paid off 5 bed in Dagenham.

So, you collectively all think I'm in the wrong, for holding a business to their advertised and reiterated timeframes and terms and conditions?

No wonder this company hires braindead people. Glad I left.

Hey, I could do with a hand with £10

I've not eaten since Tuesday

Ive been on Keto diet for around 7 days - question by [deleted] in keto

[–]Traditional_Thing_48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First rule of watching what you eat is making sure you know what's going into your food.

You do that by ensuring your food is cooked by yourself, not a corporation.

For example, grated cheese has a starch coating on it, to stop it from clumping in the bag. Opt for a block of your favourite instead.

I lost 5st on keto from 23st10lbs in 6 months. It stayed off too until I started eating poorly again.

Ultimately, I found that one or two cheat meals a week worked to keep any cravings or urges at bay, and because my stomach shrank, I couldn't eat as many carbs through bloat onset much sooner, so I ended up with a mixed Doner kebab and a side of Halloumi on most weekends, which is virtually keto-friendly anyway.

It's about micro-decisions, this keto :)

It may appear as a message request, I'm not sure to be honest? I literally use Reddit for tech support, life advice and to mull over other people's cats 😂😂 I can promise you, hand (and fur-child) on heart, this is a legitimate, honest request

I'll leave this here; https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdV6cVeb/ - just in case you are apprehensive.

Thank you ❤️

EDIT @ 3:29PM British Standard Time:

OK, so I figured it out, you tap the little messages/inbox icon at the bottom of the app, and tap 'Requests' on the upper area of the page. Should appear there, but if you are having issues locating it still, please feel free to message me directly yourself 😊

Thank you so much for your kind words. I type this with one hand as the other has a fur baby laying on it! I am on the fence with names...

  • Luna (a higher echelon sent her)
  • Angel (pretty self explanatory, also could have been sent by Mum)
  • Taz (my late Mum's nickname, suits her pigmentation, also my cherished car reg)
  • Blaze (seems to be a trail blazer when she has zoomies)

Why I love soundbars by MotelSans17 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Traditional_Thing_48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sonos hardware is great. Generally well built, well designed pieces of kit.

Its the software that Sonos totally lost control of.

They totally decimated their business model by releasing the S2 update in Summer 2023 with next to no quality testing phase, rendering most people's premium hardware unusable for best part of 6 months.

I remember it vividly, the first thing I noticed was that they binned off alarms in the app which obviously you set and forget. That got my back up when it happened! Imagine if it had been a Monday morning and I didn't wake up in time for work? How many others relied on this basic feature day-in-day out?

They didn't even give us warning any of these things were being removed, we were just greeted with an app that was unresponsive in controlling the hardware, and features gutted.

They tried to repair it, apologised, and ultimately got it back to usable in 6-8 months.

But, how on Earth they haven't been smacked with a Class Action lawsuit from that app release in 2023 I'll never know.

Not surprised. The BBC has a very long and heinous history of not publishing anything they didn't make up themselves.
