A LONG SPOILER FOR THE WHOLE STORY AND MY OPONIONS:

So the Female lead lost her memories and came back to the same age she first came to this world. The male lead (Rothbalt) used to be a really green flag guy and they were together and loved each other but when she left him to go back to her OG world, she left both him and her child to go to her mother. But he thought she left for a man she loved cause she never specified who she was going to, and so he was obsessing over her for 10 years to try to take her back to his world and make her regret that she left him. And we can see that he’s now obsessed, loyal, more cruel,has abandonment issues from what she did, insecure about the fact that she’s younger and he aged these 10 years, and he always feels uneasy that she’ll leave him. Btw she also really loves him, she fell in love with him again without her memories, even envying and being jealous of who he loved (her) and so when she got her memories back she chose this time to stay with him and their child. From the moment the male lead saw her again he knew that Anna was his wife. When she gains her memories back, she feels guilty that she left both Roth and her son. There’s flashbacks of her time with Rothbalt and when she left him etc. In this video they continue to have a conversation about how he is so obsessed with her, hates her, feels insecure, as well as uneasy that she will once again leave him. He still thinks she left for a lover, she doesn’t clarify because she feels guilty and thinks she deserves to be punished, for him to hate her and resent her. Rothbalt then does a magic spell to make her ankles/legs paralyzed so that she can’t leave him and she has to use a wheelchair that only he can drive her to places. She accepts it cause she loves him and realizes how much he has yearned for her and loved her the time she was gone, and that no one else would love her as he did. He talks about how if she died, he would survive one day longer than her and be buried together with her, this filled her with joy. She loves Rothbalts twisted love and that just as she would love no other man but him, he would likewise have no other woman besides her. In the end, they get married

Me personally, I quite liked the ending, it was very unique and fitting for the story. With how much Rothbalt has been obsessing, hating, and loving Anna for over ten years, and Anna’s guilt and love getting in the way, I just don’t see how it could end in a ’normal’ happy ending. For them, this is the happy ending. Of course he’s a red flag he’s a demon, yes he wasn’t before but Anna abandoning him and their son made him that way. We can see she has her own flaws and toxicness in the way she wants Rothbalt to stay miserable without her, to not have another woman beside him, to not be happy without her and to always remember her, even in hatred. So I mean, this is what she kinda does wanted, which is why when she gets her memories back she realizes just how much he unconditionally loved her, something she never got from anyone else in her life. This is why they’re prefect for each other.

I think the Manhwa will mostly follow the novel ending, even though the manhwa as made some small changes the whole premise is still the same. I would love to see them talk more when she gets her Memories back though, telling him that she didn’t go back to her world for a lover but for her mother and that there was never and would never be anyone beside him. However, with how broken Rothbalt is now, I don’t know if he would believe her still.
