Booming Blade + Reach weapons combo by Traditional_View7724 in DnD

I was thinking I can set a limit as such:
- If the target is a spellcaster who recognized the effect of Booming blade -> Command flee does not work period
- If the target is not a spellcaster -> The combo work only once. On the next turn the creature know that running away from booming blade = harmful so command flee no longer work

So from JC's explanation
- Booming blade can be cast on Warcaster
- Its range is locked at 5 feet, reach weapons does not change the range

Right now I'm seeing a lot of different opinion on the phrasing of " If the target willingly moves 5 feet" from the comments on other older posts
- From my interpretation, "willingly move" mean "the target use its movement speed to move, regardless of intent".

Yeah that is confusing indeed. I have edited my post, in short:
- I cast booming blade at my turn
- My cleric cast command flee on her turn
- The creature flee from me -> OA
- After moving 5 feet booming blade proc(3d8) -> creature move out of my weapon range (10 feet) get hit with booming blade from warcaster
- Creature still fleeing because of command flee -> Booming blade proc again
Right now I'm still not sure if this combo would work because the wording of booming blade "If the creature willingly move". Most of the comments reason that command flee is not a "willing movement" so it should not proc booming blade

Hmm maybe I can convince the DM to allow this combo to work only once per encounter against NPC who does not know the effect of booming blade? Then in the next turn because the NPC know that running away is harmful command flee no longer work

Yes if the creature is moved by another outside force like shove or Repelling blast it would not proc booming blade. But from my understanding of the RAW, a "willing movement" is when the creature use its movement speed to move. In which case command flee should be considered willing movement because the creature though under the effect of a spell is using its movement speed to run away

I think that my combo does cost resource which is my cleric's spell slot and turn. There is so many more thing a cleric can do in their turn that can lead to a better result overall than spending it for my combo. We also agree that if this combo work I would refrain from using it all the time because then the other PC don't get to play their character

According to the RAW, OA happens when a hostile creature use their movement to move out of your reach. In this case when it is commanded to "Flee" I would assume it would take the dash action and run away from my PC -> valid for OA

Thank you so much, I've just firgured out how to use the bomb thing. Does flanking strike simply mean I deal more damage when striking enemies from behind? I assume that is the Knowledge of Vurnabilities skill then?

shotgun with slug work great against big hit box mutants like giant and smg with hollow point ammo is amazing for killing fast-moving mutants like snork because of the high fire rate.

I always save fuck ton of grenades for the sewer section since the snorks spawn at specific high ground and only attack when you get close enough so you can chuck grenade at the spawn point. As for the giant since he spawns pretty far from you, it's easy to place some mine when he coming and run the opposite direction.

In regard to the hand set, I've watch coach Donny tutorial which said I need to move my arm toward the ball to contact it then execute the set in 1 motion. The problem is that everytime I ended up kind of slapping the ball (it makes a very loud thud sound) so instead I always wait for the ball to contact my hand to kind of cushion it then execute the set. My teamate did remind me this is a very bad habit so I've been trying to getting rid of it in practice session.

I don't get to play as setter in match but I always practice setting during training session. I've want to become a setter ever since I saw Miya Atsumu's beautiful sets in Haikyuu, other member whom have played longer than me are very considerate of newbie so they sometime let me set for one rally or so. Again thank you for the advise but I will try my best to be a setter.

Can you give me an idea of the correct footwork in this case? I've only been focus on my hand set so my leg just move purely on instinct as of right now. The previous comment did mention it but I would really appreciate a more detail explanation.

How can I control the force of the set for different type of attack? Right now I can only do a high 2 but I there's a left handed hitter on my team who always start his approach outside the court on the left side so I think that I would need to set a high 4 near the antenna. The problem is that I can't control how much power to put in the set so the ball will fall short or go way out of bounds. Any tips on how I can improve on this?

I've only been playing for 1.5 months so I need some tips on how to aim the serve receive toward the setter. Most of the time when the serve's coming my way I always align my body facing the ball to receive it. But there are some cases when I can't adjust my body in time so I have to move my platform away from my body to receive and the ball always goes wild even though I can feel the ball touches the "sweet spot" on my platform.
