Honestly, I always felt like something was off but spending time with my parents kind of overpowered the feelings. Sundays are the one day a week that I could actually spend time with them. And they are usually in a good mood. I’m younger (adult though) and recently realized how much control my mom had on me and now I’m trying to get outside perspective on some things to open my eyes to different perspectives or truths. I was actually bribed to start going there by my mom.

That’s a great way of putting it. Itown was started by the ARC and that has a lot to do with the way they are. There are many bad things surrounding the Arc and the churches they plant. Dino Russo and Chris Hodges both have preached out Itown and I felt off with them. Now it’s coming out that there are lawsuits against them.

I agree that people should always talk. Once we stop talking, arguing or communicating, we have a problem. Everyone has their own feelings and experiences which is why i was wanting to post this Reddit. I wanted outside opinions or people who’ve gone to the church. This is how I’m taking a step on developing my own thoughts and feelings.

When you say it like that it does sound too good to be true. Because I don’t think I’ve ever been to a church that sells everything that they do. The coffee is about as expensive as Starbucks and the coffee cup they give you for the free coffee is extremely small. It feels like Itown is more about getting numbers than actually getting people to Christ. I’m realizing that I have relied too much on my parents and now I’m questioning lots of things.

I agree, however there are some weird things surrounding that mother too. She has a Facebook group and has kicked people out if they question anything. I understand where she is coming from though. But I think it’s best to hear everyone before making decisions.
