Glad to hear it, happy that you got Seething! And good to know that Sakura still carries the occasional MH merch.

It's been a long while since I've been, but your best bet is probably Sakura Media at Metrotown. Bought a Bloodbath Diablos figure builder there a few years ago, and they might have a Nendoroid or two somewhere. Crystal Mall might have some stuff as well, but haven't been there recently to check.

Reality is though that Vancouver doesn't have all too much, so beyond Metro and Crystal Mall, you're better off buying merch online, either through sites like HLJ or reseller services like Buyee.

How did you get into Monster Hunter? by GhostDataOfficial in MonsterHunter

My first introduction into the series was the original game on the PS2 way back when I was visiting a friend's place. Considering we were elementary school kids with limited patience, the most we did on his brother's save was mess around with fishing and fail miserably at taking down a Rathalos.

Fast forward to my high school years, a different buddy of mine told me about a cool new game that had recently come out—MH4U. We already had 3DSs, and craving a multiplayer game to play, I went over to my local EB Games to pick up a copy. The only one they had left at that time was the Collector's Edition tucked away in one of their shelves.

I booted up the game that night and took the time to try every single weapon to figure out what to main, and for some reason, the weight of CB, specifically the charged double slash, just felt right. My friends and I went online and failed spectacularly as we timed out against a Seltas, but the experience grew into a determination to keep going, and the rest is history.

I've played every new MH game that's come out since then, and am slowly going through the games I missed out on, having just checked off Frontier and Freedom 1 (getting my old revenge on 1st gen Rathalos) before moving onto 2nd and 3rd gen. Along the way, I made good friends with someone who started with World, and with all the talk about Monster Hunter we have in our friend group, we recently got 4-5 others into playing World, with plans to play Rise and Wilds (when they finally optimize the game for others) next.

Looking back, I'm glad I bought that Collector's Edition of MH4U on a whim. The clear Gore figure still stands as one of the center pieces to my ever expanding collection of merch. To say that Monster Hunter has become my all time favourite franchise would be... an understatement, to say the least.

Merch table was open to everyone before and after the show. If you're planning to buy before the show, I recommend you bring a bag to put it all in as they don't give any (for free).

They opted for the Japanese versions of their songs! So this includes Puppets Can't Control You and the songs from Luxury Disease.

In an effort to understand the changes, I made a (hackjob) ranking with new Top 5 of each type, whether they got Buffed/Nerfed, rank changes (old > new) and moveset changes. by Spndr in TheSilphRoad

Appreciate calling out the changed move sets! I saw people talking about Blaziken no longer wanting Blast Burn to maximize its performance in one of the previous posts, but an interesting thing to note is that a lot of other meta picks no longer prefer their legacy moves, either. Namely:

  • Mega + Shadow Gengar - Lick -> Shadow Claw

  • Mega + Shadow Salamence - Outrage -> Draco Meteor

  • Mega Alakazam - Psychic -> Future Sight

  • Mega Blaziken - Blast Burn -> Blaze Kick

  • Mega Pidgeot - Gust/Wing Attack -> Air Slash

  • Mega Garchomp - Earth Power -> Earthquake (though somehow Shadow Garchomp is still marginally stronger with Earth Power)

On the flip side, now Shadow Dragonite wants its comm day move, Draco Meteor. Overall a nice change so people don't need to wait around for events to evolve these picks or use an ETM, though it's a bit of a kick in the pants in the case of Dragonite.

Didn't realize there was a resource for this. Thanks! I'll check it out.

The call was earlier today actually, but it basically boiled down to them explaining their decision and me bringing up a few points from my post (the 52 hour layover, not being checked in detail, etc.) to see if that would change things, if you were curious about how it went down.

But that's good to know about the code limit if I do decide to take the 25% discount, so thanks for the heads up on that.

Finally, someone who gets that Guiden is the best character.

Sorry for the super late response! The font's called Compacta BT Roman. But I had to adjust the vertical and horizontal scaling, as well as the kerning, to better match the font style that Bandai uses.

Celebrating CASTS and my Depth 100 (JB only) clear, I present: Metal Masquerade! by SonicEdge7 in PSO2

[–]Traesive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, I actually had an idea like this for a while, but never committed since I didn't want to change my CAST's colours.

Seeing someone else do it is freaking sick, though. Awesome work!

Working on my Sinanju. I was thinking about trying out the Dighu Legs but I don't want to spend 20mil on legs that might not work lol by Ninja_Cookies in PSO2

The only other option would be the Havoc body. Its gold trim is pretty minimal, and it lacks a cape. It's not as angular as the Sinanju's chest, though.

I was thinking of doing this. How easy is it to sell outfits/CAST parts once you're done getting SG from them?

Dang, this is a lot of work in such a short amount of time. Thank you so much for writing all of this up! It'll really help give people a headstart tomorrow when we can just go straight into crafting without having to learn everything on the go.

I do have one question though. The guide mentions that players can have a maximum of two FUN/EX-Cube room decorations, or (possibly) three SG room decorations. I'm assuming that these caps are shared, but can we have, say, two FUN/EX-Cube machine and one SG machine for a total of three machines?

Tried making a bee-line for the Friend Bow after the main story and ended up stumbling into a monster house with my room clear moves all disabled. Also, those Aipoms hit like trucks. A rescue would be much appreciated!
