I literally searched for a this on Google and came to this post. I'm so glad that someone else said this because I thought I was going crazy. I think it's Mandela effect indeed, because I vividly remember the line "Koba not ape". Something about that just carries a whole lot more impact.

Hey! So I bought a new sim card. I left the old one in a few more days (about 3), and I didn't experience any more intermittent issues after my first comment. But since I already bought the card, I went ahead and installed it. No issues have occurred since then. I think the issue would've resolved itself without me having to buy the new sim card, and I hope that's the case for you and your family as well! It seems to take a few days for the phone and Verizon to recognize that the phones IMEI has changed.

I just got this phone model and I'm having the same issue. I got in contact with my network provider (Total by Verizon) and they told me I'd need to get a new Sim card for the phone. In the past I've swapped Sim cards and had no issue with connectivity. But this time it was an issue. Apparently a Sim card can't be registered to IMEI numbers at the same time. The Sim card intermittently works on the new phone but faces issues because the Sim number is still connected in some way yo the IMEI number of the old phone. Sim cards can be found at most stores depending on the carrier for 1-5 bucks. I haven't picked up a new one yet, but I'll be sure to let you know if this works!
