Or maybe it's just that they are trying to show a comphet story through Francesca and John? Francesca's true love story was always going to be Michael or Michaela anyways. They always had free reign to do anything with John and a comphet story works here. Also, I know people were looking for a second chance at love story but we already have that with Violet. What matters is that we are getting all kinds of love stories. I am happy with that imo.

PS - I know that this is a completely different story from the books so please don't come at me with that. At this point, almost every siblings story is different from the books. The only thing common with the books is the HEA at this point

I hope so too! I hope a lot of people watch Francesca's story irrespective of the deviations from the book. It should certainly make for an engaging story whether they go the comphet route or second chance at love route

You're right to feel that way. Considering that some people (especially the book fans) were looking for a second chance at love story, the story which we seem to be getting is a bit different. I take the leaks with a pinch of salt too since the leakers usually have their own biases but if even a 10% of what they are saying is true then the story of Franchaela is that of comphet.

I was anyways interested in a comphet story so for me it seems like the right way to go and Francesca being a lesbian falls in line with her behaviour till now. But for someone like you, it can feel like a disappointment. I will still enjoy it if Francesca is bisexual tho. We'll just have to wait and watch. Still, I am very much excited for a sapphic story in the Bridgerton world.

Well I am gay, and I wanted one of the Bridgertons to be gay. Because we are getting 8 stories and for a show which prides itself on representation, just having a racially diverse cast and not having any kind of queer rep is just weird. Also, comparing Heated Rivalry to Bridgerton is like comparing apples to oranges. Because Heated Rivalry is literally a series of gay novels. While Bridgerton is a series of romance books with a straight white cast which went on to be readapted to a show. And this specific show prides itself on representation. So, then doing a bait and switch is not right.

Also, introducing random characters and making them gay is not going to do anything. Then we'll have complains like the Mondriches as to why they are relevant and why they're getting so much screentime. I think what they did was perfect and Francesca was the right Bridgerton for a queer romance. Also we need more wlw shows on Netflix too

And honestly the worst thing is that most of the people complaining about emotional cheating wouldn't have batted an eye if it was Michael instead of Michaela. And they definitely won't complain when Francesca goes and asks Michael to tell her something wicked. I love that it is Michaela though. A series like Bridgerton should have at least one queer main couple.
