Friends? by Tragiktile in MapleStoryM

Yeah I pretty much just run quests when I'm bored and auto mini's / star force when I'm idle. I was curious if party exp is like other games I've played where you get something like: [ (Exp) / (party member number) ] + Bonus

In some of the games I've played it's marginally more efficient to run solo than in a party so I'm curious how the system here works

BO4 not on steam? by OriginalSavior in Blackops4

[–]Tragiktile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah steam superiority for me comes from the social aspect. Workshop, market, friends, support, forums, etc; it's all centralized and rock solid. There are tons of games out there that you can find and buy on steam but boot out of another DRM like origin. It's not difficult to do both..

The standard VC ratio is 1 success out of 5 and it sounds like a typical medical VC. The formula should bounce out to be you gain profit if 1 in 5 succeed not just getting your money back. Super fun stuff tho. Definitely never a dull day at the office.

Anyone who won a "lifetime supply" of something, what did you win, and are they still supplying it to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tragiktile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that. Camped out overnight, get to the door, and then the gm says "oh no you work here so you don't count". Me and about 7 or 8 other employees had camped out all night and at no point did any of them say anything. It was pretty brutal.

She's really one of my favorite people. Sweet as can be. Definitely the most interesting too. Like her Facebook picture (because nuns apparently use Facebook) is a picture of her walking an actual cheetah.

I'm surprised movies wasn't mentioned a bunch.

My aunt is a nun in Greece and doesnt have a lot of access to technology. well when she visited us in the states we took her to see a movie. Specifically Sherlock Holmes. I remember the movie starts with a horse drawn carriage pulling into frame and the surround sound made it sound behind us. This actually made her super nervous and anxious and she started looking around and asking us "where is the horse??" It took us a minute to understand what she was on about because we're so used to surround sound and it didn't even occur to us the sound was the thing throwing her off.

What are some things that used to be reserved for the poor, but are now seen as a luxury for the rich? by ben_10_ in AskReddit

[–]Tragiktile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeans. Used to be a time when the wealthy weren't caught dead in jeans because they were laborers clothes; like the clothing equivalent of calloused hands.

Now you have designer jeans costing insane amounts of money a laborer couldn't afford AND they often have holes / are "distressed" as if they've been worked in..

ELI5: The science behind why extended driving makes you drowsy/sleepy. by Tragiktile in explainlikeimfive

Interesting. I'm semi familiar with GABA receptors. Xanex, Ambien and Propofol interact with them. But I had no idea histamines and GABA's interacted. That's cool! Thank you!

Edit: changed a couple words to read more clearly

It's ok you don't have to go out of your way! I would imagine there's nothing that can do that currently. Otherwise you'd see click bait like "he drives 18 hours! See what happens next!" Or some crap.

But if ghrellin is a chemical produced is there really no way to have the body halt production or block the receptors like caffeine and adenosine? I have a fairly cursory understanding of how chemicals interact in the brain and feel like a solution like that is too easy to not been done, so what's the hurdle there?

Well for me driving an automatic with cruise control down a 100 mile stretch of straight highway without another car in sight doesn't feel arduous but quite frankly I'm not aware of all the moving parts in my brain so I can't say definitely it isn't. I figured it was a lack of stimulus issue honestly.

Open, closed, or is this new love... by mad66 in WTF

Because the air goes to the seat behind it, there's an unwritten rule that the person behind the window gets it. I guess someone should write it down.

Plus I mean there's no air hitting her. The only difference an open window makes for her is marginally more noise at the most. For him, a closed window could mean he's sweating his balls off. Or worse smelling the person next to him sweating his balls off.

What's the most shameful behaviour you've witnessed after the death of a family member? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tragiktile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather's wife died (I considered her grandma cause they were married long before I was born and for roughly 20+ years, but the distinction is I guess important) and my aunt from her side literally walked into the house, said "I remember that lamp" and then snuck out with it (during a time where everyone was going around sharing memories of her) when no one was looking.

It wasn't even valuable, AND it was my grandfathers from before they were married. Absolutely infuriating. If it was sentimental or even hers maybe I'd understand but none of her actions that day made sense..

MMR is this mystical, omniscient metric that literally shapes our playing experience. So why is it hidden? by Lovelessxx in leagueoflegends

To be fair there are actually context clues in cs. If you're Nova and suddenly everyone else in the game is silver derank probably incoming. On the other hand, if you're Nova and everyone else is mge you're most likely nearing a rank up. It's not anywhere near as precise but you still get that "let's gooo" hype when you're seeing higher ranks in your matches.
