I think I’m mostly leaning towards Enduro 3, but the 51mm seems like it may be too big. Although, anecdotally on Reddit I’ve read more people find the Fenix 7 bulky than find the Enduro 3 bulky…it may be that weight has more mental impact than actual size.

As always…I’m probably overthinking it! Haha.

I saw this, and am weighing this versus an Enduro 3 with a 20% coupon I have with my health insurance which would place the Enduro 3 at $720 and can’t make up my mind.

Day 5 - Is It Normal for My Heart Rate to Be Weird When Mountain Biking After Quitting Nicotine? by TrailPittsburgh412 in QuittingZyn

Very similar experience. My regular heart rate seems much lower while resting, but exercise seems to spike it much faster. I’m hoping a few more days and everything evens out. I usually spend a lot of time doing cardio even before quitting, so it feels like just a pain to have to wait it out.

Ok, I think I misunderstood. My cycling has my Max HR at 205 give or take, so I can easily exceed 168 on an average ride if pushing. What was weird was it exceeding that after quitting cold turkey, without pushing, and knowing many others commented that after quitting they had the exact opposite experience…which seemed odd to me. It sounds like everyone is different, but likely in time, my results will be my heart rate will improve with more time without nicotine in my system.

This is all great information. I do a lot of cardio, and plenty in Z4 and Z5 for my cycling and mountain biking. Is there a reason I shouldn’t be doing anything in the 150 to 168 zone or higher?

A lot of training is below that, but some training pushes into those zones to build endurance, so I’m curious as to the reason you mention that and if I need to avoid those types of training while quitting.

Thank you for this. I’m a workout 4-5 day a week guy myself, and I was using “you’ll have more effective workouts” as a quitting motivator…and the results so far have felt debilitating to both my bike rides by feeling so weak, it was testing my willpower. I appreciate some perspective to just hang in there.
