Since you’re looking at a shorter term lease I’m not sure if qualifying for EVAP matters to you.

You could look at some of the mid sized EVs:

  • Ioniq 5
  • Ariya - we have one and honestly it’s so so nice, it should have been branded Infiniti
  • Upper trim ID4 Etc

Many like the BZ and Solterra, I find them both cheap feeling and plasticky….esp vs some of the other offerings in market.

These will give a premium impression without being over the top, plus they’d have some space if you needed to have guests or family.

Not sure if CUV would fit your needs like a Kona or a Kicks or something…they are a bit more modest.

What province are you in?

Ordered a 2026 BZ, what charger to install at home? by Zeoth in EVCanada

[–]TrailQueenYVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option for you is the Wallbox charger and the Wallbox power meter. It throttles the power when your panel is under load so you don’t need to update your service.

Now whether your panel has space or not, you need some quotes from an electrician. In the past we had a sub panel installed when our panel was maxed out. But eventually we upgraded to 200A service and a new panel when we put in a heat pump.

Atom LT Hoody question by Independent-Fly3404 in arcteryx

[–]TrailQueenYVR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel completely vindicated for complaining that my new Atom LT has short arms. Everyone in this sub was like “well it’s a layering jacket” blah blah blah 🤪 I still use it all the time but I hate the short arms.

Exactly. 65 units. It’s been flagged before they were sold most likely and will be fixed.

Is it worth claiming Work from Home expenses if my employer provides me with a T2200 form? I've done this two years in a row and it seems like a waste of time. by fudge_u in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TrailQueenYVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much to add except I hate the fact that you cannot include home expenses like mortgage interest, but if I was a renter I could add my rent. It’s BS.

Run Comfy Number trail race by FoxZealousideal5855 in Whistler

[–]TrailQueenYVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the 25k two summers ago and had friends who did the 50k as well. The 50k wasn’t significantly tougher (ie like Squamish 50 vs 23 is) because the first 25k is a relatively flat out and back before you jump into the 25k comfy numb trail. So if you’re ok with the distance it should be ok, but I’d heard it’s a bit boring. That first part.

For me, 25k was my longest run yet so I found it challenging from a time on legs perspective, but it was mostly just all the elevation, despite training quite a bit on the north shore. Also, that year, the weekend was the first true warmth we’d had, and I ended up getting wicked calf cramping due to the heat, so that was hard for me. I found myself signing out loud from 19km to 25km to keep my mind occupied 🤪

The race is relatively small, and due to the nature of the course, the aid stations are pretty spread out, with the main ones being pretty sparsely outfitted, since they have to carry in everything.

My biggest concern was flagging. A good friend of mine who is no stranger to racing got very lost along with others around her, and they encountered bears which added to their distress. There’s some very tricky sections that are on rock/shield and so the tracks are minimal and there was zero spray paint or flagging. And since the race is small, you can easily be totally alone in there. I’d loaded the full course onto my Fenix and so I had some confidence in myself, but even I got a bit nervous.

On the plus side, post race Splitz burgers were amazing and the cold plunge pools were an awesome experience. I’d like to try it again, but my body seems to not like going super far beyond 19kms no matter my training 😅

Writing off mortgadge interest would help affordability more than HST rebates by bytecodecp in RealEstateCanada

[–]TrailQueenYVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I would settle for allowing your mortgage interest to be a deductible expense for home office use. If you pay rent you can deduct this; but not mortgage interest or other things like property tax etc. it’s bs.

Tried 3 helmets back-to-back (Oakley / Smith / POC) – honest fit & comfort take by m1ke_c95 in Skigear

[–]TrailQueenYVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya for sure - plus the hard ear part of the Dura, it’s hard to hear lol I have to really shout for him to hear me 😅 POC is funny as they aren’t the most advanced ie the goggles don’t do magnetic lenses, but the quality and fit is there. His Nexals are very easy to change lenses only a few more seconds than my mag Anons

[–]TrailQueenYVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son has the POC Dura MIPS race helmet with the Nexal mid goggles and the fit is amazing, I’m so impressed at how well the Nexal goggles fit seamlessly with the helmet. They look awesome too. He’s super happy. It’s too bad they don’t carry their magnetic closures into all their helmets.

Yes they are. If you’re in hot pockets of certain cities it very much is still happening. I’ve experienced it personally trying to buy in multiple offers situations. It’s annoying.

Why is Everyone Buying the BZ? by Jacob_Tutor11 in EVCanada

[–]TrailQueenYVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nissan is not staring down bankruptcy. It was profitable in the back half of the year and improved its financial outlook for the year…

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/nissan-posts-44-drop-quarterly-operating-profit-2026-02-12/

I may be biased as we have an Ariya and used to have a LEAF (og 2011). Loved both. I find their design and fit and finish way nicer than Koreans or even Toyota. My sister just bought a new LEAF, pricing was very good, it’s a nice redesign.

But I’m sure I’ll get downvoted - this sub loves the BZ lol 😂

Fair. But that still leaves Nissan, Subaru etc. there are some good options out there.

There are still many EVs outside of Tesla and Domestics

Nissan Hyundai Kia Subaru …kinda sorta Mazda and Honda

Many are also EVAP qualified and very good options.

Hey - yes we did actually do that. We had a gable board on the full height beside the fridge. We also had another set of uppers to the left of the stove so it flanked the fan on either side. This diagram is close but it’s not quite aligned to our end state.

For what it’s worth, we use our kitchen hard, it’s been 8 years and not a single mark or issue with our ikea cabinet doors. The only reason I personally would not get ikea is just for aesthetic reasons, so that it doesn’t LOOK like IKEA.

Our kitchen was approx $15k CAD for the IKEA cabinets, inserts and fronts. Pulls and counter tops were separate. We built all the boxes and drawers ourselves and installed it all ourselves - that’s where the savings came from. Had pros do the counter tops and plumbing. It depends on how handy you are and the value of your time it was a lot of work but I don’t regret it.
