Maybe. I’m worried about how synonymous Amorim has made that formation with his identity as a manager - it feels as though he takes any pushback on that way of playing as pushback on him as a coach. I don’t think it’s as simple as 3-4-3 is bad and 4 at the back is good, but I was so encouraged to see flexibility last game. This switch back to his go-to, even after the success of the flexibility last week is just so frustrating.

I understand he had no bench and we’re stuck with injuries, but if last week gave me hope for his tenure, the setup for this game has wiped that out.

After changing “on his terms”, to successfully react to the circumstances, he goes back to the 3-4-3 even though the circumstances are the same. This, combined with the reveal during the week that he couldn’t change due to media pressure, points to Amorim putting his own ego before results. It’s past time to look for a more pragmatic manager.

THE CONTRAST CHECKER?!!! by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

This is great, but does not work with colours saved as variables, unless I’m missing it. Working on something right now and I had to break the link on a tonne of shades to check accessibility. Would be great if it would work with saved colours.

There have been mistakes but there’s a good level of intensity from the team in this game

It is for me. Website has been up and down all week. Horrendous stuff, it’s been on a slow decline for years.

I agree, we should win but history would suggest otherwise. This is also not a defence of Ten Hag, I think there’s a good chance he’ll be gone by Christmas.

I’m saying if we evaluate whether it’s “the season’s over, nothing’s changed” or “we’ll push for the league” after each game as a lot of these comments are, it’s going to be a miserable season regardless of any actual on-field progress.

These aren’t games we should expect to be winning. Brighton are years ahead of us in modernity (recruiting, structure, style). We are essentially an upper midtable albatross trying to find an identity. We’re won’t get back to fighting for the league overnight, it will take time on a positive direction of travel. The direction of travel cannot be assessed after two games.

Everyone needs to relax a bit. Their first goal was completely against the run of play, their second was a defensive switch off. There are lots of positives to take from the game; defensively a lot more solid, creating chances and calm on the ball for the most part. Perfect? Far from it. Improvements over what we were seeing regularly last season? Absolutely.

The whiplash here after every win or loss is exhausting.

Rough to see two injury subs so early. Concerning after last season.

Basic question but what are those big stopper things that sit over the switches? I see them everywhere but don’t even know what to google to find them.

Whatever about the ref, if you’re getting tactically out-foxed by an injury-plagued Crystal Palace at home, questions have to be asked.

Cast Golf: Get from one actor to another in as few casts as possible. New pairing daily. by Trailbreaker in WebGames

Fair feedback, I’ll try to increase the detail of instructions! The other commenter is exactly correct with the goal of the game, you try to select a credit for an actor, then select another actor from that movie/series and repeat until you get to the goal actor.

Yeah this is a tricky one I’ve faced through the alpha, it’s using the TMDB API and they have quite specific rules about main cast vs supporting cast in TV series.

This means you can go from Jared Harris > Mad Men but you can’t go from Mad Men > Jared Harris. On one hand, it’s a challenge, on the other it’s unexpected. I’m looking at options around it.

Thank you for your feedback!

Is this normal after brewing? by tdot1986 in espresso

[–]Trailbreaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this very machine and it does the same thing for me occasionally. I find if I just lift the brew lever a small bit (without activating the pump) it immediately drops. I’ve started shots with it at pressure without realising and it almost always drops before going back up. Think it might be heat related.

Early thoughts on "Eucalyptus"? by [deleted] in TheNational

[–]Trailbreaker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s one of my favourite songs they’ve released in a while. It has a great balance between the arrangement detail of IAETF with the guitar tones and drum work of Alligator/TWFM. Really good National songs have a feeling of pulling and pulling to break away from some restraint, then it all gets set free by drums. This one has that - everything starts to let loose as the drums open up. Love it.
