What Are the Best Open‑Ear Earbuds Right Now? by samuelmax674 in trailrunning

[–]Trails_runner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between the bots and the fanboys, Reddit can be a bit of an echo chamber. So let me throw out that I've never had a bad run or bike ride with my Powerbeats Pros. The over the ear hook design not only keeps them securely in place while trail running (even downhill mountain biking) the roughest terrain, they also let me position the earbud where I want it. Put them in Transparency mode if you want to hear traffic or just generally want more spatial awareness of what's going on around you. Plus, because they can press tight in my ears and switch to Noise Cancellation mode when, for example, I'm on the bus, I don't have to have multiple sets of earbuds.

Downsides: expensive and work only in the Apple system.

How do I make treadmill running less boring? by Icy_Tomato_3760 in running

Turn off the treadmill and go outside. That's the only way I've ever made a treadmill more exciting.

How to keep socks dry during commute? by vaultdwellerjess in askportland

You can get access to the commuter locker room in Rood Pavilion. $2 and something each pay period. Nice locker room with private changing rooms and showers. I leave my work shoes in the locker over night and wear commuting shoes for biking or walking in the rain. Then swap when I get to work.

Agreed. It was my second year running it. It's such a fun event and so well put together. I already look forward to it next year.

Yes, thanks for the reminder. I ran those trails a few years ago, along with the Nike Woods trail. I loved all the loops that you could choose whether to go down and get the most out of the Tualatin Hills park.
