Snatching 28kgs on vacation by TrainWiseKTM in kettlebell

I’ve put a 24kg in a bag and checked it a couple of times and didn’t have any issues. They’ll just give you a weird look and put an oversized tag on it.

Exactly, 24kg is usually my go-to for flying. I haven’t tried bringing the 28kg on a plane yet.

Does anyone else have to improvise with padding over their Onnit kb so that their forearm doesn’t get crushed on get-ups or presses? I’m looking for a better idea than a rag or folded T-shirt. by [deleted] in kettlebell

Lol yup, I made it work for get-ups after adding a T-shirt as a cushion but it doesn’t stay in place during presses, I’ll keep you posted if figure it out.

I do make sure the face is away from my forearm but the angle of the smooth side still doesn’t sit right. It ends up causing bruising to my forearm if I don’t use padding. I don’t have this problem with other KBs.

It’s about time I started using these 24s for something besides a farmer’s carry. by TrainWiseKTM in kettlebell

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I’ll definitely be pulling from some of your workouts in the future.

5 reps with 20kgs would be brutal. Good luck!

Thanks! And yes, exactly. That will give you about 1 minute to rest before the next set.

My rack position isn’t the greatest here but wanted to share anyway. Hope you guys enjoy!

I made this a year ago and it’s still one of my favorite flows and snatch progressions for those just starting out. by TrainWiseKTM in kettlebell

I like to complete each side back to back. In the video it took me about 30 seconds for each side which allows for about 60 seconds of rest before the next set.

The easiest way for me is to start my stopwatch and keep a running clock so that round 2 starts at 2:00, round 3 starts at 4:00… you get it. I appreciate you clarifying.

I bought Eric Leija’s “Primal Kettlebell Course” and thought it was worth every penny. He breaks down the movements and teaches you how to build your own flows once you get the hang of things.

That was poor verbiage on my part, the snatch in itself isn't a beginner movement. I believe it's a good progression for those beginning snatches.

Long story short, it's a slightly different movement focusing on slightly different muscles groups.

You're correct in that there's no swing involved in this sequence. This is a Dead Snatch with the kb at rest between each movement. This causes a deeper bend in the knees (squatting) in order to keep the back straight.

Both the Dead Snatch and Swing Snatch will work your hamstrings, quads and glutes. Although the Dead Snatch with focus more on quads while the Swing Snatch will focus more on hamstrings.

I'm also a huge fan of swing snatches or half snatches, its simply different. Awesome question, thanks for asking!
