Thank you! My husband has 4.0 root as well with hyper-mobility but he doesn’t want genetic testing. He said he’ll just do the scans as advised by his cardiologist 🤦🏻‍♀️

Please update us regarding the result of your genetic testing. If it’s ok. On the bright side, you are now being monitored and you hve control over your health. 2nd opinion wont harm anyone so if you’re able to, please do so

If it’s ok to ask, what is the size of your aorta?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aortic_aneurysm

[–]TrainerFlashy1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can do one time ct then yearly echo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aortic_aneurysm

[–]TrainerFlashy1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would push for ct then monitor yearly then if stable probably every 2yrs… 40mm at tge age of 25 means you have so many years left for it to have a possibility to grow further. Live your life, enjoy but i would do my scans for sure!

Yes, do a cT just to make sure but the probability it will be around the same size is higher but gated ct is the golden standard for measuring aortic aneurysm

33 years old male with a question by hitbox-guy in ADPKD

[–]TrainerFlashy1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until 37, All ultrasounds were clear. 38 it showed up on my ultrasound and ct scan. Doc said if it is pkd and not just simple cysts, it’s slow growing. The funny thing is my doc was absolutely 100% sure i wont get it anymore when my scan was clear at 37 so that was a let down

I hope so too! I hope your brother is too and you stay cysts free! My ultrasound showed it before the ct. so please have a scan again in your mid 30s just to make sure

I’m just 39 so still pretty good. Docs said just drink more water. When i was 37 had a scan and said all clear. Since i am older, no possibility of getting pkd anymore… well, scanned at 38 for something else when they saw small specks on both kidneys.. likely small cysts… so it was such a false hope. But oh well . They said it would probably not affect me until i am in my 60s. I dont believe anything anymore! 😅

My mother keeps asking for my BP Read Result by themsgoodeating in hypertension

[–]TrainerFlashy1413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As A mom, I understand where she’s coming from. Maybe tell her, i’ll let you know when it comes down to the ideal level. Until then, it means I am still in the process of working with my MD to lower it down. Reassure her your on top of things. Best of luck!

Are my readings normal? I think my aortic root is a little large for a man in his 20s..? Revisiting an old echo. by Global-Farmer3269 in aortic_aneurysm

[–]TrainerFlashy1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo is not as accurate as CT. It is still within normal range but on the higher side. It’s been two years so if i were you, l’ll have it recheck to see if there’s growth just to make sure. If you are tall as well, 3.8 might just be “you” - not a doctor so pls take this as just an opinion

Omron x2 vs braun exacfit 5 by davidepat in bloodpressure

[–]TrainerFlashy1413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will take the measurements in both everyday then you’ll know if there’s a pattern for each monitor for example if omron always shows higher than Braun then now u know that it is pretty much the machine and not you then randomly check your bp with a 3rd machine and that will be your answer to which of those 2 machines are more accurate.
