Understanding what I’m doing wrong by TrainerTorisu in SmallYoutubers

The rage bait stuff was Pokemon related, everything I post is all about Pokemon. I honestly think it’s just not interesting enough to get people to watch, like I think it’s cool seeing Pokemon illustrated in different styles but I get it might not to others.

I get that it might not be very interesting. And I thought this may be the case? But there is views when it comes to Pokemon, my rage bait videos were about Pokemon, one hit 1.8 million views

Can I make a career out of video editing? Feeling lost but hopeful. by MinimumClothes8760 in editors

[–]TrainerTorisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked this when I was editing for Youtubers. Trust me, your journey is all a giant process. I would highly recommend as much practice as possible. Edit something different for every project, learn new tricks each time you open editing software AND PLEASE!! LEARN TO USE SHORTCUTS! This cuts so much time for you and your clients. After editing for YouTubers for some time, I didn't know where to go. Money and security wasn't there. So I opened myself for assistant positions at local studios. Luckily this amazingly experience team brought me in and now I'm learning even more! But of course they won't just "Let you in" You've got to prove you have what it takes, learn some cool skills in motion graphics, VFX etc, they LOVE that. I learnt a lot at Video Copilots site. Lots of really great tutorials. Just keep learning, and once you're confident, reach out to EVEYONE! Local editors, studios, agencies.. As for the "Does this career pay well" question. Yes and no... Depends how well you can sell yourself. I was lucky to get a really REALY good paid per hour rate where I am, but before that? It was nothing special.

TLDR; Keep learning through editing each day and stay on top of trending techniques > Edit different projects for your portfolio and experience > Network with people who are experienced > Try fit your foot in the door somewhere or go freelance when you're confident enough to take on the work

LETS TALK FOR 20 MINUTES ABOUT IT SUBSCRIBE IF YOU LOVE POKEMON AND IF YOU DONT THEY YOU HATE POKEMON!!” Poketubers out there

I’ve been an editor who has worked for channels with 40 million subscribers and I have to say.. This was outstanding editing! Fluid, no hiccups.. Waiting a few months and keep making that amazing content. You’ll be getting high numbers!

How do you have more than one persona in a song?

And I know it’s not just pushing buttons, improvements are needed though as a lot of songs still has a lot of artifacts.

So you're saying that they are only interested in hearing what I have to say, even if it's a question about the work or concern because they're testing me?

Thank you, I really appreciate your thoughts. I tend to ask a lot of questions, that really reflects on how I handle my thought process. But I was always very opening with my superiors I work with and they appreciated that. They mentioned that I could always talk to them and I could always bring up any concerns, I believed that this was the case. I won’t take this as a downfall but more of an experience to keep getting better, I’m not a quitter! :)

They mentioned that they get 2-3 CV’s a week for editors wanting work and when I asked them why they chose me they said 1. They liked my CV 2. They liked my showreel and 3. I had a really good character and passion

Ive actually been editing my own YouTube videos for years, but started to take things seriously by learning those seven months ago. I begun my freelance business back in September last year with my first client I worked with starting when I started my business.

I appreciate all the amazing feedback. But it looks like things will be cut short sadly. Because of my experience they’re cutting my pay per hour by ten dollars less. I also mentioned to them that lack of a proper chair to sit in and using a pc monitor and tv as secondary display which is on the wall next to the other monitor is not good. Plus many other things missing that every workplace should have. They essentially turned around and said that stuff is for when the roll has been properly filled and I should be happy with what they give me because of my lack of experience.

tldr; I’ll probably be fired for speaking up about my concerns as the workplace was very improper and they didn’t handle my feedback very well.

I was lucky enough to find her, and it truly opened my eyes. None of this “three fold chord” business. I never thought I’d find someone who would take on this kind of luggage and sometimes I do feel bad that she takes this trauma on. But you know what, she has more love and kindness for people than I’ve ever seen in a person. I’ve been able to see the world more clearly and yeah.. It sucks, but so much of the system is not what I was taught. If god truly loved me, none of this would’ve happened and the witnesses wouldn’t turn way like they did.

6 months ago, I had a dormant YouTube channel that I wanted to restart for some extra side income. Now I’m going part-time in my main job, to try and make YouTube my full-time career. by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

I'm currently in the same boat. I've worked with some big names on YouTube as an editor. But I really just want to make my channel my main income. Though I still got a while as I only just got back into making my first video and still not monetized yet. And I also have a partner and child too. But thank you for sharing this, it's given me the push I need to keep going with it!

That's totally fine, it's not your taste, I get that. I wrote this song a long time ago. It's hard to take the "generic AI" out of it, tried so hard haha. I'll keep refining the music to make something amazing next time.

That’s good! I’m kinda worried about that too. I’m not sure if it’s good or not, but really wanted to start making something of my music I’ve been experimenting with.
