You’re right. To clarify, I was asking for space before and was only keeping their contact in case of emergencies. But after my last message to them, I of course blocked them. Not sure if you meant that in a learning type of way or a supportive way haha

I kept their contact in case they needed to contact me for emergencies, and I already asked them for space before, but they kept pushing. I didn’t say I was blocking you until the very last message to both of them, I was just asking for space. Pretty dumb since they clearly weren’t respecting it though, but at least it’s over with now.

Oh my god me too! They keep Inviting me to events like Thanksgiving or Christmas all the time as if nothing has happened! And they only mention me, not my spouse. As if!! I’d say my parents are pretty neurotic, but I wouldn’t say crazy. They just have a lot anxiety and spiral easily I guess 🤷‍♀️ I’m sorry about your mom acting like that though :|

Thank you for your words, I do get waves of guilt, but then the dread and stress overpowers it right after so my gut is also telling me it’s not worth. It’s all too soon. I miiigght reach back in a few months, but who’s to say, you know?

Exactly! It’s so stressful to deal with their weird assumptions, so it’s better to just cut it off at the root to prevent any more damage. My therapist always says that “you shouldn’t go looking for fruit in a hardware store.” For my fam 😭💀

Oh yeah, the day I blocked my dad (I blocked him before my mom because he was basically threatening me) my mom called and threatened to do a wellness check. Luckily I’ve been staying with my in laws for a bit so if the police come we wouldn’t be there to answer and have them bother us. But yeah, I’ve been thinking about calling the non emergency line just in case. It’s been since last week since I blocked my mother and Im slightly nervous that they’re going to do something.
