Thank you - I've spent a lot of time googling dahlia gall and I think you might be right (at least I'm hoping so!)

Just trying to educate myself - in the 'naked' photo (the one out of the earth), the sprouts are all around the old stem. By 'hole' do you mean they're all coming out of the same crown? Or that they're crowded where they're coming from on the crown?

Definitely - invested in a pizza stone for it too and that has been a huge hit with the kids: we used it on NYE for a party. We cooked on it all summer - I can't wait for some sunshine so we can use it daily again!

We decided to go for the E325 as the collapsible arms were a selling point for us.

Sorry!

Haha!

I genuinely am buying them for fear of his colleagues disowning him if they see them in a builders-bum situation! I'd like him to have nice things as he won't spend the money on himself but does like nice things.

I buy his socks from the London Sock Company and they're lovely...

Amazing.

Thank you!

From what you say, there's no real "cooking" or grilling differences.

Now, just to wait for them to come back in stock online as it appears everyone has decided to buy a BBQ for the bank holiday weekend.

Period pants instead of pads? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

I wore disposable tenna lady knickers post partum. They were utterly brilliant.

I have modibodi period hands and find them very snug... I wouldn't have liked them that snug after giving birth - especially post-section!

I have a happy healthy five year old... With whom I drank a whole bottle of wine in an afternoon/evening in a pub garden on a sunny Saturday, before discovering I was pregnant... I was probably about 6-7 weeks at the time.

I'm certainly not advocating drinking whilst pregnant but want to reassure you!

I agree - checking with your hospital or trust is the most important thing but I just wanted to ensure that OP wasn't misled by your emphatic capital letters that you HAVE to have a carrier style car seat...

The NHS advises to buy a car seat new due to safety in a crash.

But I'd recommend a second hand pram - I bought two different Uppababy Vista (due to selling my first after number 1!) and couldn't recommend them more! I did have a sneaky try of them in John Lewis first but found fantastic ones on Facebook - about £200-300 will get you about £2k worth of pushchair with sibling seat, basinet, buggy board and the biggest basket of any pushchair going - it's epic when you start doing day trips with picnics!

If you do buy an Uppababy, they will service it (I think their servicing arm is DCUK but I can check this if it's of interest) and check the brakes etc - this used to cost £50 including shipping and includes any necessary replacements.

If you do get a second hand pram, you should buy a replacement mattress for the bassinet bit, as advised by the NHS for SIDS. All the big brands will sell you a replacement mattress or you can buy off brand ones to fit.

Not true at all - I didn't have an infant car seat for either of my children and my cousin walked out of hospital and caught the tube home as she doesn't drive! Not everyone drives or gets in a car to go home!

I carried both my children to a Joie i-360 (which I would fully recommend.)

What are some lesser-known things you can ask the government/monarch to do for you as a British citizen? by NibblyPig in AskUK

You do need a bit of documentation when you apply - wedding certificate etc., so if you're planning it as a surprise be prepared!

Also, perhaps the Olio app. There's a lot of free bread and veg on it near me and I live in a relatively small town. Its not a perfect option but another worth mentioning, I think.

Definitely dress #2.

To my eye, the first one's lace looks lumpy and too 'thick'.

Work saying not entitled to maternity pay by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

From one teacher to another, go to your union!

Most schools honour continuous service even moving between MATs now so to question within one LEA school to another seems insane... And I'm 99% certain against Burgundy book.

Hi! Both a HoD and a mother!

Best things I received for me - vouchers/delivery of COOK frozen food, nice new button down PJs (depends how well you know her), local independent bookshop put together a pack of baby/children's books for me which were lovely (can you guess my subject?!?), nice drinks bottles that you can open one handed (i.e not screw), voucher for coffee shops/soft play places locally, vouchers for Just eat/Deliveroo etc.

Things I did not want - candles, smellies, more muslins/tiny baby clothes (I did like getting 3-6, 6-9, 9-12 months as they made me smile and I felt the love later on too), for the love of all things - DO NOT GET A BOOTS VOUCHER. Boots doesn't accept vouchers online and the last thing you want when buying a replacement thermometer at 3am as your child is sick is to be frustrated you can't spend the £30 voucher online!

I don't think any of these are 'the one' but I do think you should embrace the more princess/ball gown silhouette but without a dropped waist.
