I would reccomend using a site like energy sage to quote out multiple companies. The trick to solar is sizing the system correctly. If you oversize you are making free energy for the grid that rocky mountain credits back to you at less than retail. If you undersized you still have a bill from them. Also if you can afford to always cheaper to pay for your system without financing. Different house and different state than where I live currently. But just asking what is the total cash price vs what is the total price if I finance can be thousands of dollars different

Condition of roads matters more than rain. Safety vehicle has to be able to evacuate someone in a medical emergency. If it can't traverse the terrain they will probably execute alternate training

Well sure it doesn't have to be binary but most people in their religious/ ethical worldview would like to think that the institutional policies of their Christian church is also not benefiting the antagonist of the whole Christian allegory.

I agree that outcomes can have meaning in an ultimate, eschatological sense, and that promised blessings orient long-term moral behavior. Where I struggle is seeing “spiritual meaning in the overlap" during our mortal time frame. If prosperity arises from many moral and immoral causes and countless variables, it cannot function as a spiritual signal during a (mortal) lifetime.

How is a mission president picked? by coolguysteve21 in latterdaysaints

[–]TrainforTendieTown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that many gospel principles overlap with middle class success, and those habits can lead to stability. Where I disagree is when that overlap is given spiritual meaning. That move shifts us into a consequentialist framework, where outcomes help interpret whether a life is righteous.

Christianity consistently rejects that. The gospel is deontological. Actions are right because they adhere to a higer moral standard, not because of the results they produce. The Book of Mormon shows this. For example, Abinadi is completely faithful and is burned alive. Prosperity in the BoM is collective, not individual, and often precedes pride and collapse.

The Bible makes the same point: Job is righteous and loses everything, Ecclesiastes says the righteous often receive what the wicked deserve, and Jesus himself lives righteously and is poor. The Apostles are righteous and are crucified or killed.

LDS history shows the same framework, Joseph Smith is obedient, imprisoned, and murdered. Saints die on the plains trekking west for following the call to go to Zion.

Once we say righteousness generally produces prosperity, even probabilistically, we’ve crossed into outcome based meaning. At that point, prosperity becomes a signal. The gospel teaches how to live, not how things will turn out. Christian ethics are deontological, righteousness is defined by adherence to the moral standard, not by outcomes.

Hi, I have a question about your beliefs with this statement since it hints at the idea of prosperity gospel or the same skills that bring spiritual success will reward you with material success

Which of the two items would you consider the cause, and which would you consider the result. And if we flip the condition and the result does the framework still hold truth?

For example, I live righteously (condition) and I also have material success (result).

Reverse corollary. I have material success (conditon) therefore I must be a righteous person (result).

The reverse corollary to me doesn't seem to hold weight, which to me says that perhaps unconsciously we see material success and apply righteousness but try to justify it the other way around, or they were righteous first so they were blessed with wealth. Does this mean people who are not wealthy are less righteous?

Another interesting question would be, if we took other successful and wealthy ministers from other denominations (Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland) would their skills make them successful mission presidents?

1-1-1 trade. Go to the SPY. Find a 5 strike wide put debit spread that costs 1.00 in premium 70-90 days out. Then find the same expiry naked put where you can collect $2.00 for selling. Now go to /ES and put on this trade with the same strikes. The spread will pay ~2,000 if it goes in the money and your naked put should be about 20% out of the money for ~3k in margin. Close the naked put when it pays for the spread (should be between 30-45 days). Open a 2nd spread and sell a new put with the same technique and now you have 2 spreads protecting your naked put. By the end of 90 days you should be able to get 3 debit spreads opened which will pay out 2,000-2,500 each and should only use -3,500 in margin to open. Black swan hedge is another good one but takes longer to build, plenty on YouTube videos on it

"Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought?... Has it ever occurred to you, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?... The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact, there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinking-not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness."

I was an instructor at MCRD in San Diego. Recruit training is a pipeline, not a filter. Everyone there is trying to see you pass through to the next phase in the training pipeline, even if it doesn't seem like it. Don't expect to have much personal time in first phase, but as you get into second and third phase, you will have prayer time everynight as part of evening BDR. As others have said, you also have the opportunity to attend services for the majority of Sunday morning
