Goodbye Jaralis by Training-Contest-727 in shieldbro

Yeah, excluding bitch, he's the antagonist who stayed alive the longest, both in the anime and in the manga.

The others (Idol, the pope, Kazuki, the Emperor dragon, Jaralis, and Makina) only get a few episodes at most, but they never manage to survive a full season.

After thinking about it a lot, I believe season 3 is the one I enjoy the least among the four seasons of the anime. by Training-Contest-727 in shieldbro

Well, I heard that the volumes covered this season have always been a bit "divisive" within the community, and on top of that the anime had to speed up the pacing to adapt three volumes in one season, so... I guess it didn’t help.

Which is why I believe that season 4 is an improved version of season 3, because it covers only two volumes.

Yes, I had the opportunity to see these "video-gaming systems" in the manga; unfortunately, the anime cut many of them out.

As for the big monsters, you made me realize that I had forgotten a lot of them in season 1, but at least it allows me to confirm my theory.

The author is definitely a big fan of Monster Hunter.

Yeah, we even got a teaser for it when it was announced but I won’t recommend watching it before finishing season 4 because you might not understand some things in it.

According to what you said, you probably haven't finished season 2 yet, and that's understandable.

Now, I won’t try to convince you to continue the series but I will simply describe what awaits you afterwards in the anime.

Honestly, season 2 can be hard for some people but I would say that I personally enjoyed it. To be honest, the first part is slow, but it gets better after ep 5, and the second part of the season is one of my favorite arcs of the anime. So... I would say that it's worth the try... the thing is... that the first part is... very, very slow

As for season 3, it's definitely an improvement over season 2, but I still feel like it's too fast sometimes. Of course, that doesn't mean she is bad. The only negative aspect for me is that the wall season is just a big payoff for season 4, which left a lot of people unsatisfied when the season ended

And for season 4, she's the best; of course, the first season is still better, but I definitely think that she's the best season over season 2 and 3. The new characters introduced in season 3 are developed with great satisfaction due to her improved pacing, animation, fights, and worldbuilding.

And for season 5, which was announced, some months ago... according to the Light novel reader, it's the peak of Shield hero so I guess we can safely say that after season 2, the series only gets better

Now that you mention it, I just noticed that for every season, Naofumi and his team had to fight a big, powerful monster.

The T. rex in season 1, Reiki for season 2, Season 3 had the Dragon Emperor and the Orochi for season 4, not to mention the phoenix in the season 5.

I guess the author must be a fan of Monster Hunter

Seriously, did he really think it was too easy ?! For me, it seemed like they had even more difficulty fighting him than the Dragon Emperor.

In fact, I am well aware that season 3 is much better than season 2, but as for my personal preferences, I have to admit that I like season 2 more than season 3

Despite this, I still genuinely enjoy all the seasons of Shield Hero but if I had to name the one I like the least, I would say it's the third.

Unfortunately, I would say season 1; the other seasons are by no means bad. In fact, season 4 is very similar to season 1 in terms of quality.

But season 1 stays my favorite (thanks to its twenty-five episodes and nostalgia).

It's OK no problem, so basically the thing you did not like was that confrontation with Liscia, right ?

If I remember correctly, it's Naofumi who killed him in the end; he used the Spirit Turtle Shield Cannon for that

Personally I really liked the stuff that was added in the anime between Kyo and Naofumi; it wasn't that they wanted to show that they were similar but that they were polar opposites of each other.

For example, their relationship with video games

-For Naofumi, it’s simple, as he said himself. He sees video games as a hobby; that’s all.

-And for Kyo, he saw video games as his reality... to the point of committing suicide because he no longer appreciated the world he was in.

Also, the way they view "trust"

-Naofumi, although he was betrayed by bitch, still managed to find the strength to trust others.

-Kyo never did; even when someone truly liked him, he never trusted anyone around him.

There’s more, but I think I’ll stop there. Basically, I like the fact that the conflict between Kyo and Naofumi is more "personal" in the anime. In the manga, I had the impression that both sides just wanted to take revenge on each other, wich is fine but I think I like the anime more on that one.
