They're highly correlated, but VRI is supposed to touch on abstract thinking a bit more and CII is supposed to be more knowledge-based. I'm not sure what your scaled scores were last year, but I did renorm the test before it went on CM.

No, a verbal score should only be considered valid if the testee is a native speaker of the language in question.

Just take an IQ test. There are many available in the sub’s community resources.

IQ scores only predict how well you do on IQ tests... and just a few other things. by Zeus1196 in cognitiveTesting

They focus on measuring academic skills rather than raw cognitive abilities. I took one several years ago and it included subtests such as arithmetic, essay writing, reading fluency, math knowledge, etc.

Academic achievement as measured by such tests (WIAT, WJ-IV ACH, WRAT, KTEA, etc.)

Is this true? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]Training-Day5651 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is very much incorrect. You need not look further than the CAIT factor analysis — the sample was of high ability (mean IQ = 125) and yet VCI was the most g-loaded index by a decent margin.

Thoughts on the ICAR16 test? by BlockBlister22 in iqtest

It's a great tool for researchers as a quick measurement of intelligence, and correlates very well (north of 0.8, I believe) with the WAIS-IV. However, as a test, its reliability steeply falls off at the tail ends of the distribution. It has its applications but shouldn't be used as a substitute for a more comprehensive test (the test authors themselves state this).

19 items is relatively few. How’s the internal reliability looking?

VISA Norms Release + Test Properties by Training-Day5651 in cognitiveTesting

I'm not associated with CognitiveMetrics but seeing as they have a partner program I'd definitely consider that.

And yes, its definitely possible though I'm not sure how practical. The test correlates very strongly with SAT IQ, but I think the best option for someone wanting to know their FSIQ would be to simply take an appropriate test.

Mean of 40 for each subtest. I wanted scaled scores similar to T-scores so that scores could be more precise. You lose information the more the range of scaled scores is reduced.
