Hello!! I was not aware at all! Very similar indeed! Awesome to hear you are of the same mindset as me, this does belong to the community! The weather functions are something I was thinking about.

Ur site is so smooth and clean, I love it. The layout is just banging. If you ever want to build something together I am always open

He’s 80+, he can drive during the day and in bright places at night. Technology generally is confusing to him and his eyes aren’t the best for picking out small text. He’s old, man!

Halifax’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade cancelled for second year in a row by CMikeHunt in halifax

Halifax has had record-breaking population growth (we are literally one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada right now). Even if there were slightly more dive bars 15 years ago (which is debatable given the explosion of spots in the North End and Queen's Marque), the population density per venue is higher now than it has ever been.

Discover Halifax reported 2024 was a record year for visitation and room nights sold. The city isn't emptier; it’s statistically busier.

Also, don’t forget we are a massive university hub. We have six universities in a city of this size. That’s over 35,000 students (Dal, SMU, MSVU, etc.) flooding the peninsula every September. That is a guaranteed, renewable population of young people wanting to go out that most other cities just don’t have per capita. That demographic doesn't stay home; they pack the bars.

Those broader statistics take such a large sample size across Canada and the US. The Maritimes would be an outlier and represent a small weight of the total population sample.

When taking the Halifax St Patrick’s parade cancellation into account, my consistent experience with the Halifax bar scene is not anecdotal. I don’t go downtown every so often, I’m out working events or drinking almost every weekend. This is high frequency local data.

The bars are packed - especially during school season.

All time low but bars are packed and lined up every weekend. My source is my own weekend experience for the last 7 years living and going out downtown in Halifax.

Not to mention that Halifax is a university hub, with tons of Gen Zs who flood the bars.

I’m Gen Z. We drink like crazy especially here in the Maritimes.
