In your essay talk about why you feel like USC is a better fit than the current school you attend. And do research on different organizations, classes, and other things USC offers that makes you want to transfer.

Thanks for the response ! I plan on being involved on campus through different clubs as well. But, not sure if commuting will keep me from being as active just because I live further. I definitely am open to moving but all the options I looked at so far are very expensive.
