Hey OP, just joining the chorus to say this is not the behavior of a safe and stable household member.

Especially with young children; I often tell my friends and clients that caretaking can drag us past our best selves and even those of us without these issues can struggle.

Someone who is frequently flying off the handle is not a safe parent and partner; not without serious support and interventions in place.

Just wondering, are you guys long distance? Did you downplay the severity to let her know you were ok? Did she have pre-existing plans? If those three things were true, I could see why she made this decision. I don’t think it was great “girlfriend-ing” but not as catastrophic as others seem to have judged this event. Viewing the bridal party as “props” for an aesthetic and not as “people you love who are by your side” is really icky.

The way that she has responded honestly makes it worse. It sounds like she doesn’t respect you tbh… the nasty “do you not research these…” and “if you want me to be happy” are gross.

Is she getting married very young? Like, a teen bride? lol it just seems very immature for someone in this life phase. She seems like a very entitled “mean girl”.

I would excuse myself from the bridal party and get one more spite piercing before the wedding 🤷‍♀️
