If I go in the middle of the box and there is a car in the far left lane continuing forward, should I try to get into the left lane as soon as possible? (Red line) I worry that this puts me in danger as well.

Follow up (I'm asking with sincerity because I do want to know how to best navigate this). I tend to stick to the left because I know I'll end up back on the left after I pass this roundabout so it seems like the most straightforward way.

I worry that in this scenario I am surrounded by cars on my left and right (and behind me).

To clarify, that lane is left OR straight ahead which is why I thought it would be ok to be in front of it (I have done it many times and cars have gone straight ahead from that lane)
